High resolution patch (666kb)
Untested by me. Extensive engine hack to make the engine fully scalable to any resolution, and calculates positions of all elements of the interface for desired width and height. Also adjusts sound positioning, fixes a number of UI bugs and disables sprite mirroring (if used without the UAP).

Features:

* All elements of the interface perfectly centered.
* No custom graphics and no upscaling/stretching.
* Full compatibility with any mods that are based off the 1.0.7.4 version.
* Full compatibility with older save games.
* Improved Compact UI. Can now be accessed anytime by pressing F10.
* Optional larger dialog and logbook fonts.

Warning: There are several quests where the 'aggro range' for failing the quest is based on whether it is drawn or not. If so, then you will encounter quests that are impossible to complete as you can't get close to the target without triggering 'guards'.


Unofficial Arcanum Patch 091225 (20.23mb)
An enormous number of fixes and restored content cut from the original. Updated 25th December 2009.

Fallout 2 Mod Roundup

I do not recommend the Restoration Project, as it adds elements to the game that are of low quality and break the game's continuity, such as a low quality talking head for Cassidy and poor implementation of Sulik's tribe and sister quest.

ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated WARNING - File was unavailable at 6-June-2010, been reported.
Eliminates the need of ArchiveInvalidation.txt by adding a dummy texture BSA to the start of the BSA load list. This stops Fallout 3's ArchiveInvalidation from running on its main texture BSA allowing any texture replacements you have to work automatically without the need to do anything ever again.

Canterbury Commons Guards
People in Canterbury die over time because NPCs spawn and kill them. This adds guards to fend them off.
MTC MoreGuardsInBigTown
This does the same thing in BigTown

DarNified UI
Before

Replaces the game's large font, console gaming style UI with one better suited for PC gaming, with a smaller font.

Dialogue Tweaks
Fallout 3 has a lot of little dialogue oddities that break immersion. This small mod aims to fix as much as possible without fundamentally changing quests.

It's weird that the world is tinted green when it's been 200 years since the last bomb fell. Gives the world a harsh look reminiscent of the Sahara Desert by removing green tint everywhere, including indoors. Includes Atmospheric Sun Glare by LadyDeadlock, used with permission.

Brujah Release Pack
Replaces the Brujah female in the game, all armors have been created. Based off an existing model. Over 100 hours of work here so hopefully no bugs (other than the trivial ones already in bloodlines).

Gangrel Female Addon (1.53MB)
Reskin for the Gangrel female.

P&P Mod v3.01 (Download link is about 3/4 the way down the page, and can be easily overlooked.)
Changes the game rules to be more like the original roleplaying game from White Wolf. Several skill synergies are different, many disciplines have different costs and durations, there are several new clans to choose from (as well as the originals), and everyone gets an extra discipline at character generation. The only downside I've seen is that Jack accuses you of cheating in the tutorial - say you're using a mod, though, and it continues as if nothing was different. (Review by Cybes) Includes 16 new clans.
P&P Addon
Alters every weapon in the game to do damage equivalent to its P&P incarnation. This makes combat deadlier for both you and your opponents.
Clan skins
16 male and female models for 8 of the new clans in the P&P mod.

A quick warning with the Arcanum "Hi Res" pack. There are several quests where the 'aggro range' for failing the quest is based on whether it is drawn or not. If so, then you will encounter quests that are impossible to complete as you can't get close to the target without triggering 'guards'. Cemetry quest is one example.

So use with care.


However... The NUMBER ONE big super duper 'unofficial' patch that MUST be installed is the Drog Black Tooth patch.

This patch restores lost content (Content that was meant to be there but due to coder error was omitted), fixes problematic conversations which appear to loop, fixes the "idiot savant" conversation options.

HEAPS of fixes. Worth replaying the game with this patch installed no matter how many times you've finished the game. ADDS HEAPS!

Dude, this post needs to be marked in an index sticky. All these mods and patches are extremely useful, and can be hard to track down. Speaking of tracking down... Back to the hunt for Vampire stuff.

I agree this post needs a sticky. It also needs more Fallout 3 goodness. When I get the chance I'll do a little research regarding this.

trying to get the widescreen mod from gibblings 3 working on IWD2, but no such luck. anyone care to lend a hand. its not installed in default location, but rather in an E: drive. recon that could be the culprit? ive launced the app both from within the game dir, but still no joy, it says it cant patch the iwd2.exe file... hmm, maybe it write protect.... brb... nah, that didnt do it... anyone?

Update with the Vampire Bloodlines Unofficial Patch and Companion Mod. Also added Arcanum Unofficial Patch. As for your problem Vanne, I don't have IWD2 at present so I can't help you. Hopefully one of the others can. What patches have you put on?

Here's a dumb question, Kung Fu... Where in hell does a .esp file (like Greenworld's, for ex) reside? The game doesn't have any of it's own, nor an obvious place for 'em, and the archive helpfully doesn't mention it. I've been awake for about 18 hours on only 4 hours sleep, so it's quite possible I'm just not seeing what's right in front of me, but I really have no idea where this thing goes.

Cybes, Just drop it into your data folder, and if you're using FOMM, activate it through that. Otherwise activate it when you start the game. The only oddity I have with it, is that the trees look just a little too lush for the post apoc environment. Too many leaves, maybe 50 % less leaves would be better, but other than that ,yeah, it's a really nice mod. It goes really well with the Fellout mod, which gets rid of that standard greenish earth colour for a browner one.

^ What he said, the process is exactly the same for Bethesda's other games, Morrowind and Oblivion. Also, never mod a Bethesda game without a modding software like FOMM. I might write a more detailed guide later.

OK.. Part bump and part information... (This thread MUST NOT DIE!!!) Reinstalled Arcanum on weekend. Installed: Unofficial patch and "Hires building" patch. Did not install hi-res GAME patch. I run this is Windows Vista (32 bit). I found a massive issue with 'mouse lag' on this. In the end I found this relates to DirectDraw and Vistas handling of Directdraw/3d. To get maximum performance out of this, you need to turn off all 3d acceleration for the game. In some cases, just selecting 'default off' is not enough and needs to be 'forced off'. I'm in the process of trying out the Fallout 2 Restoration Project. Installed fine with the High res patch, hope it runs ok. Will edit OP later today.

Also, I might start investigating Diablo 2 mods.
