:)

Juice Newton, probably no one has ever heard of her, sort  of West Cost folk I suppose. I went out with her quite a lot of years ago - my wife knows that but to my surprise likes her music. Lost touch ages ago, no idea if she is even still alive, don't really want to know, prefer the memories...

Oh, she is:

Most of James Reyne's best songs are the ones where you have absolutely no idea what he's saying.

A classic beauty from Australian Crawl - probably only surpassed by Hammerhead and Reckless:

I don't use Spotify - as yet - have this massive CD collection that I'm working back through, but one of my brothers does and loves it :)

Currently listening to Jennifer Warnes "Love Lifts Us Up" - great album :)

oops, sorry, that was an officer andf a gentleman wasn't it

"fly me to the danger zone" was top gun i think - appropriate for an 80's movie about boy love

This came up in suggestions a few days ago.

If you're going to do a cover of Space Oddity then don't bother with special effects, just shoot it from space.

It's a bit "nasal" - in an interview that can be viewed elsewhere he states that's the normal state of affairs in orbit, your sinuses don't drain themselves so just clog up.

This was done about 4 years ago - apparently David Bowie liked it a lot and sent congratulations.

Never really thought of either of them that way, but see where you are coming from :)

Only a few years ago I was flying an F-4 (actually, it must be more than a few years ago now I think of it, time flies ;) ) my REO suddenly finds a copy of "Highway to the Danger Zone" and sets it playing over the intercom - pilots do that rather a lot actually - not sure he was THAT amused when I used it as the perfect excuse to go skim some ridges :)

Actually I'm trying to recall where that was - Nevada I think :)

Cheers

Many small time bands try to cover this song live and most murder it.  So, just avoid dissapointment and get the real guy to sing it:

I have traded in Godspeed You! Black Emperor, for Fiona Apple,

and now have these songs stuck in my head:
