Such a great history this program has..

From: http://www.abc.net.au/rage/about/

"RAGE is an all night music video program broadcast on ABC TV on Friday and Saturday nights. rage first screened in April 1987.

On Friday nights rage plays new release videos through until 6am. From 6-8am rage plays a package of hits and new releases. From 8-10am rage plays a mix of new releases, rage requests and clips from the vault. From 10-11am rage plays a preview of the upcoming night’s guest programmer of special.

The show has no presenters, except on Saturday nights when rage has musicians as guest programmers. They host the show and talk about, and screen, their favourite music videos."

This weekend's Rage Guest Programmers:

Dropkick Murphys - Saturday, 12 March 2011

http://www.abc.net.a...ve/s3158517.htm

"Irish American punk/hardcore band Dropkick Murphys have come a long way from playing in a friend’s basement to becoming one of the best-loved live acts in the world.."

Their Rage Playlist is listed on Friday, should be interesting!

For those that haven't heard the Dropkick Murphys, check out:

("Kiss Me, I'm Shitfaced" studio - this is my fav of thiers)

("Kiss Me, I'm Shitfaced" live in 2008 - nice version)

("I'm Shipping Up To Boston" on The Departed movie soundtrack)

Never seen 'em live, need to change that.

IIRC the playlists don't actually get released until Friday. I used to check it every week and set the capcard to grab what I wanted. Problem is though, the playlists tend to be just full of crap, I'd be lucky to grab 3 or 4 in a weekend. Saturday is often better, they tend to concentrate on 2-4 bands/artists and also sometimes have the old Countdown clips.

OMG just in time Dropkick Murphies are wicked. (Even non-dancing types like me will get on a mean jig to their tunes) They have a fantasitc range of music - I recomend the Blackout album as a starter for any who are unsure. yes Ssar, you most certainly need to see them live!

I liked rage about 8 years ago, back when there was good music in the top 50. But if you stayed up on friday night, the midnight stuff was often good, probably still the case

Imagine a place online where you could watch all the music videos you wanted, in any order you wanted, so you didn't have to stay up all night just to see a couple of songs you like. Oh, wait a minute...

Best of both worlds: http://www.rageagain.com/

Obviously it doesn't have this week, but it's pretty up to date.
