hey guys i just found this http://www.pccasegea...oducts_id=18975
might be worth looking into for all you ram junkies/vm lovers.
its only 1333 but 4x8gig sticks are now very affordable $295
if these kits work in x79 (not in supported list) you could grab 2 kits and have 64gig in boards with 8 dim slots for under $600 not bad.
imagine the size of that E-PEEN!!!!!!
3930k @4.4, 2x120gb agility3's, 1.5tb seagate, 8 seagate 2tb lp's on perc6i raid6, hx 650 psu, gtx 580 sli, 32 gig trident x, asrockxtreme4, h60, acer b273h, fractal xl, samsung bluray.

Wow that is cheap, even the 1600MHz stuff isn't bad: http://www.pccasegea...oducts_id=18887

Latency is a little high though.

I use this software package. http://memory.datara...oftware/ramdisk

It's free for ram-disks 4GB or smaller and fairly inexpensive for unlocked sizes.

Good speeds as well.

Awesome. Thanks for that. Quick question though. is the ramdisk affected if computer crashes?

If I could justify it (I barely need 8GB) it'd be in the post already. :D

wish we had games that could make use of 32g ram at that price it would be the norm in gaming pc's if it was needed to run at max texture quality instead we have games that mostly need 1-2g ram with a few that want 3-4g
