So, looking for a new set of cans, as the volume dial on my current pair has gone which causes the left channel to drop in and out.

I really don't want to spend more than $100 or so. Though I will stretch it a bit further if need be.

Primary use will be gaming, but I already have a really good lapel mic, so I would prefer a set without an inbuilt mic (read: not a gaming headset).

I saw these recommended in another thread, but is there anything a little cheaper that perform as well? Or are they pretty much the way to go for gear in my price range??

Thanks in advance

I will suggest these (maybe at my peril) I have never tried them ! But They are cans, in your low price range, and Pioneer so how bad can they be. You would pick up better Buds in that price range, but as I suggested in the other thread headphones can be a personal thing so go to places like JB's and try some personally. Oh and you may also get some bargains from WOW as they are closing down.

Pioneer ES-MJ551T-H $82.95

I've got a good set of buds for my MP3 player, but buds aren't ideal for use at a computer, the cables tend to pick up too much noise from movement for my liking.

Does anyone have a set of ATH-AD300's by any chance?? They are a bit closer to the amount of money I want to spend, and I can get them at the same time as my new MP3 player....

EDIT: The only shops I have around here are a Dick Smiths', and a Harvey Normans'. Neither have anything but overpriced low-end gear, and no display units either.....

I know you said you weren't interested in a mic, but I have the Razer Carcharias and they are fantastic. Sound great for games, music and movies. I have let my mates use them and 4 people have bought them from a quick try so far. Can be had for $94 at MSY.
Now I'm a super fly!

FWIW, I just ordered the AD700's. Read some reviews about how good they were for the money, and decided to bit the bullet and buy them. Hopefully they should arrive sometime next week. Can't wait :D
