You're supposed to blame the cameraman, just ask Shane Warne.

So they take a shit load of public funds, and then use price transfer loopholes to minimise any tax they'll pay in Australia for years, maybe even decades to come.  Isn't this the standard strategy for mining multi-nationals?

Doubt there's a connection to Turnbull, though the world would benefit from a Cayman Islands leak (ala the Panama Files) so we could check for ourselves.

In today's courier mail it says that Mr Adani has solared the whole of his roof top back home in India. Apparently it does all his power requirements

It seems Adani is right into renewable energy ;) ... meanwhile back at the ranch ( Aus.) the company has groomed and smooged several local councils

and QLD State Gov. bodies with how much money they're going to drop into QLD with the coal mines.Given the fairly persistant rumours about the

monetary strength of the company I reckon lots of dudes in southern QLD are gonna get shafted ...

Oh ffs suddenly now we as a State have got the warm and fuzzies for some " Indians " without power.

http://www.abc.net.a...al-mine/8361034

" QRC chief executive Ian Macfarlane suggested the Chappells should stick to cricket commentating. "I'm guessing they're not aware that there are

400 million Indians who don't have electricity, who are living in darkness, who are burning all sorts of fuels that are poisoning them and the atmosphere.

"What we want to do is make sure that not only do they get electricity, but that coal-fired electricity is generated with some of the cleanest coal in the world."

... more in link.

All those private numbers out there. That I have zero desire to talk to anyone of them makes the publication worthless to me.

Got to wonder though if the 'mistake' was really a mistake, I mean surely I can't be the only one that would rather listen to <insert personally most hated verbage >

than the pollies' sanctimonious blubbering.

I certainly hope our Premier and her cohorts are enjoying themselves on our dollar. Would be disastrous (not really) to think they were having a hard time

convincing Adani and Co. to come plunder our State. Especially since conservation bodies have busted a gut or three trying to keep them out, but now

that wages for mine workers here in Aus. have dropped considerably, it looks like the time has come for Adani's mega-mine to take shape. And meanwhile

whilst our resources are sent overseas for someone else's gain we here will be left trying to get and pay for power.

Oh. That's mighty sad ^^

... but this is soul destroying ...

http://www.abc.net.a...-misled/8376794

" Adani Group is facing growing pressure to reveal which company in its complex corporate web has applied for a $1 billion subsided loan

from the Australian Government, amid fears money could be shifted to a tax haven and investors may have been misled.

An Australian law firm has written to the Bombay Stock Exchange asking it to clear up the confusion about a $1 billion funding application

to the Federal Government's Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility (NAIF).

The loan would finance a 400-kilometre railway from Queensland's Abbot Point Coal Terminal to a planned massive mine in the Galilee Basin,

which, if it goes ahead as proposed, would contain six open-cut pits and five underground collieries.

Thanks Malcy and Scotty, 2 billion less in GST revenue for the NT.

Way to win over us NT people, we'll just dump that useless senator Nigel of your next election.

The reduction in GST for the Northern Territory was arrived at by the Commonwealth Grants Commission which is a statutory body that is independent of government.

The Grants Commission advises the government on the GST carve up based on a number of factors such as population. Given that the NT's population growth declined then the likelyhood of a GST redistribution was always on the cards.

NT wasn't the only state to take a hit.

Anyway, the way the GST is distributed is independent of the federal government. The Grants Commission tries to achieve 'horizontal fiscal equalisation' through the GST distribution. This means they try to allocate the GST in such a way that each state has the same financial capacity to provide services at the same standard. They take into consideration each state's ability to raise their own revenue.

Current distribution can be seen here :

NT looks to be a basket case.  WA is getting ripped off, they have every right to be angry.

Really, there should be a floor of retained funds like 50% as a bare minimum.
