here ya go, knock yourself out  : https://www.khanacademy.org/

Indeed. And I have availed myself of not just them, but also several other online (mostly video) courses and educational channels. But those did not exist in the early '90s, which is when ^that happened.

The excuse, btw, was that "all our coursework is created just before it's delivered in class, to suit the needs of that class" - which sounds eminently reasonable. It's also total bollocks. I later received old class notes from someone two years earlier that were identical to the (then) current stuff. The staff just plain CNBF.

Malcy's too busy salivating at the thought of knowing where every hundred dollar bill is. And of course eventually including the fifty dollar in the process, for good measure and orgasmic delight

Isn't there 3 valid methods of providing legal tender for a sausage roll?

1. Armful of shrapnel that takes 3 minutes to pull out and count.

2. Cheque which takes 3 minutes to find book and write out plus another 2 minutes for operator to provide the requested tax invoice.

3. $100 note.

kindergarten done right isn't a child parking facility; it's the formula one training scheme for intelligent curiosity

Whilst I agree with you 100%, can you imagine how badly our current education system would cope with kids who actually want to know things, rather than are willing to sit there and let rote be poured into their heads? I couldn't even get my university to offer next week's materials on a subject I was consuming too fast, FFS.

Sounds like Uni A :) Mostly assholes :)

Our current education system is mostly a mess,  might be getting better, can only hope :)

Cheers

You're better off wishing the sky falls on your head before they could really overhaul the education system.

Even now, I see the Education Department struggling to get their syllabus up to date with what the world has. The highly touted HSC Mathematics course had been pushed back because current teachers all FAIL the basics of statistics. Even with a basic test paper, I was the only one out of the staff to actually do well in that part with others struggling. And I'm casual which makes me wonder how this creaky system will finally die and collapse with the politics involved...

Seeing how vocal the Libs are about their past leader, maybe Tones should get together with Cory. Only problem there would be the shit fight as to who the Leader should be ;)

According to an opinion piece in today's Courier Mail, some would like him to go take Downer's current job in London ;) - As per usual the media is hogging the spotlight with their 'considered' opinions as to what would be best for us all. - I get that Abbott must have convinced himself that his particular case warrants revenge for both him and his followers within the Liberal Party, just as ( indeed, more so ) Rudd's final attempt seemed much more than simple revenge for him (Rudd) too .

Turnbull thinks he's found the perfect 'out' using the Menzies analogy . I nearly bought it. Till he mentioned something about the Party working free of business influencing agenda.

Granted not those exact words, but for me, it was implying a disconnect from big business which is like pie-in-the-sky-fantasy really. When I was a kid, voting Liberal seemed to imply looking after the guys on the land. We produced raw goods and turned them into retail product in our factories back then.

edit: for quote and link...

""He wanted to stand apart from the big money, business establishment politics of traditional conservative parties of the right, as well as from the socialist tradition of the Australian Labour Party, the political wing of the union movement."

Well geez ! That is about the end of any hope of sanity coming from that Party with Sotty gone.  :\ Di Natale says the " Senate will be so much poorer". I'd say it will

make life very bloody hard for the Greens. imo, Scotty gave the party some gravitas and a little backbone.

If they weren't so busy criticising everyone else instead of looking inward for faults they might have caught the problem before it occurred.

Rightfully, they should be paying back his salary for the duration of time he served.

Tones still hasn't provided any proof he's renounced his UK citizenship either.
