Hey guys just wondering if you could make a suggestion for my pc...Im running a i5 4590 with the stock cooler in a Cooler Master K350 (Original Case wasnt there, CPL are morons) So im looking at upgrading to NZXT H440, would the cooling in that case be substantial?

If not, what would a good air cooler be for under $100

Cheers

The case has little to do with CPU cooling; you seem to be confusing terms; it can affect 1-5deg of overall system temps, but not a huge worry overall.

If you're not overclocking, any of the 'popular' aftermarket coolers will do. (even the stock one will, but might throttle on hot days)

Assuming you're not overclocking I try to find a cooler that has a 2nd appeal (aesthetic, performance, price, etc); as an example (i am overclocked; 2.6stock up to 4.2ghz) I use a Noctua C12P.

Some tests show the U12P to cool a degree or two better; but the C12P being a 'flat' cooler blows directly over the known to overheat PWM's and also slightly over the RAM too.

In other words; its a good CPu cooler and is providing other functions I like too.

So find one you like, and we'll try advise yay or nay.

I'm a fan of Xigmatek fans, and Noctua coolers personally (noctua fans too; but the price!)

CM 212 evo+ was great cooler when I was on air and was cheap as heck.

well 4590 cant really be overclocked so the only reason to bother replacing the stock hsf is to make it quieter but thats not a low noise case

H440 doesnt have great airflow but its more than enough for a stock clocked single gpu system

Not always true.

My house has no insulation and as such can reach above 42deg. ambient on a spring day; add to that some hard working stock processing and I bet you'd throttle on a stock cooler.

Same here ,my bedroom faces the North and West and in the afternoon in Summer my bedroom temps hover about 35degC ,even with air conditioner on in summer its still damn hot. The is Warm to touch with a CM690 and the PSU is cool ,you just have to remember to make sure cables are tied back away from GPU and CPU.

I bought a Zalman CPU cooler that looks like a Jet engine ,my CPU is always cool. GPU is cool too .

Life is like a Straw , ...... it sucks.
