I'm just looking around at phones to replace my HTC One XL. Has anyone used one of these Sonys?

My partner has the X5 Compact (black)
She loves it.

Whatever you do. Do not get white as something about the white paint or plastic transmits static to the screen and becomes unresponsive.

Thanks for that. I looked (closely) at the Z5 compact...but was just a little bit small and still not cheap. Very nice phone though!

The M5 I posted this about has gone from my radar...numerous reports citing issues...the price is basically right, but the phone is a let down for many

Now looking at HTC One M9 for $595 from Domayne...or lusting after the HTC 10...

...looks like my back up plan (Lotto) is needed again! :)

Sony phones are great but for one thing, the pricing.

Having trouble with A [?]OS11.1?

I'm also wary of the glass back on the Z5...? Not a deal-breaker on its own. I could have grabbed a Z5 (not the compact) for $770...but yeah, still a fair chunk of cash!

Edit: BTW, I'm aware you can get better prices online but I'm a bit old-fashioned and want to be sure to not get a grey import

Keep an eye out for places like Good Guys or Officeworks, who tend to pricematch and not sell greys.

Grey imports might have the wrong firmware/os on them by accident.

That could be annoying!
