Nexus device Android updates

Best Answer Rybags, 15 August 2016 - 02:49 PM

I think it's generall automatic so long as enabled.  My Nexus 7 is still stuck somewhere in early 2013 thanks to the fact that rooting and modding it is sufficient to screw up the ability to update, it just DL'd the thing, tells you it's updating then bricks itself until you do a boot with recovery.

Anyone got a Nexus device? I have a Nexus player (that Android TV x64 thingy) and expecting the Android Nougat update soon. Does the device simply update itself or you have to into settings to force the update?

Thanks

It'll download the update OTA automatically. But I don't know if it'll ask for confirmation before installing (I assume it will since it involves downtime).

Hi Jeruselem, The current version for Nexus Player is 6.0.1 as at 20/08/16.

Looks like you're up to date.

Yeah ... Vodafone didn't push windows phone 8.1 update 2 to my Lumia 830. Running windows 10 mobile now anyway. Telco's are just a slack lot.

Android n is on the nexus player now, but the android TV interface hasn't changes but that's a different issue.
