Hi I was hoping someone can help me. I have an i pad mini (i think it is the 1st generation) and i cant upgrade to ios 10 or sync my ipad. I tried factory resetting my i pad. I also tried reinstalling itunes on my computer and updating my drivers but my i pad still won't sync and i don't know where to go from here. My i pad works fine apart from it not having the latest update and not syncing. Please help me as I can't afford a new I pad.

Is the cable you are using faulty? Do you have another cable?

Ok, does the iPad charge from an adaptor?
Need to rule out a blown charging port on the iPad.

Try using a different usb port on the pc or mac.

Can you do it over Wifi?

And isn't there a power requirement?  Like battery over a certain %charged, and maybe even plugged in to a charging point.

We've had two iphones update fine over wifi at work to iOS 10, if iTunes isn't cooperating try that.

I assume there is no issues with your iTunes account? Check your internet is working correctly just in case.
