So I guess we people need to get VPN’s so we can get around this Idiotic thing the Idiots up in Parliament House.

Looks like it's only public trackers so far.

Nothing of value was lost. And no mention of Usenet

It's up to isp to implement how they do the blocking. Some may do the minimum required to comply with the decision to superficially be seen to comply.

Torrents aren't blocked.

 

I torrented a copy of UBUNTU last night, as it's free and legal.

They're only blocking criminal websites.

And as I said, Usenet is still unrestricted.

And so are private trackers.

I havent looked into it yet, but I'm imagining it's a DNS block only?

 

So  using a different\free (OpenDNS?) fixes the problem?

If they just use DNS blocking then, well ... just use another DNS indeed

The how is up to individual ISPs to decide.

Really curious why this appeared in the gaming section and not, say, general or tech talk, where it might imply the OP is after TV shows or something and not pirated games.
