So I'm helping a mate out.
He's been renting PC's because he's been unable to buy for a long time.
He suddenly came across about $700 spare cash, so I said, lets smash a PC out.
Cool thing? MSY are offering 15% off the total cost, if you build a whole system with them this weekend.
So, lets do it!!!!!
Antec VSK3-500 USB3.0 Micro-ATX Case with 500Watt PSU CASEAT0VSK3500 $77.00
Which comes down to a few cents below $715
I chose these after a fair bit of thought.
First of all, I chose Ryzen, since it has a nice new socket, and will provide some real upgrade paths in the future.
I chose the single stick of 8GB of ram, because as another $90 becomes available, some Dual Channel 16GB action can come into play.
I chose the cheapest B350 motherboard, and I personally just like Asrock.
Unfortunately, a 1050Ti is the best card that will fit in the budget. I managed to find a 4GB card, at least, that will fit in, I'd have loved a 3GB 1060 instead, but a 1050Ti isn't a 'bad' card. We're only aiming at 1080p.
Cheapest 240GB SSD; because...... it's an SSD.... I'm still of the opinion that people who are using an SSD, can't feel the difference in the real world without synthetic benchmarks. SSD, is SSD.
Aaaand the cheapest Antec case, with a 500W PSU, so I know the PSU is at least not going to catch fire on me, and plan Antec cases are cheap.
Would anyone tweak anything?
We could go up to $750 at MAX, so, not a lot of wiggle room.
Sort of considering going up a PSU\case rating...
Something like this:
Thermaltake Versa N25 (CA-3G2-60M1WA-00) USB3.0 Black Mid Tower Case with 80 PLUS 600W PSU
Which would make it $747
