It's the season for jollies, and mania and Christmas ( if that floats your boat ) too.

Tonight begins my four days of jolly mania. We are not big on the whole family thing, in fact it will be just us two doing as little as possible.

There will be food and scotch and, a stolley, which will be the only 'festive' thing about.

It's warm and muggy and the pool is about fifty feet away. I think that about covers the next four days for me.

How 'bout you ? Doing anything, or nothing like us ?

edit: If a mod is around could they fix "Sean " and make it "Season" please.

Merry Chrismas to you and Walt.

Not doing a lot.  Going to one brother's place for lunch, maybe the other's for dinner.  Or maybe just stay home rather than the 100km or so round trip.

The shopping part is easy... by arrangement we only bother really with kid's stuff and they generally like money then do their own thing.  So assuming I've got some cards left in the drawer, little left to do there.

As for the food and festivity part - I've got to take it easy.  Got told I have Type 2 Diabetes on the 13th and have been on medication since then and monitoring since this Monday.

Ah, diabetes is the bane of contemporary life . Better to take it easy anyway. No point trying to treat a body like it doesn't matter when it most definitely does.

Ho! Ho! aand all that to you too :)

Can't quite believe the excellent weather. Late December and we can still have comfortable night's sleep. It's almost unheard of !  Walt's putting together a salad with a ham and veg omelette .

After our toils around here yesterday it's been a very lazy start. Bloody marvellous.

Hope you are doing okay with whatever is on your agenda today too :)

merry christmas!

The Snowman is a children's picture book that was adapted into a silent (no dialogue) twenty-six-minute animated television special in 1982.
The film was produced using traditional animation techniques, consisting of pastels, crayons and other colouring tools traced over hand drawn frames.

WA strawberries are pretty good this year, so are raspberries, but cherries !!! Always too expensive this time of year. I can't say I'm especially a fan anyway so doesn't bother me.

The clue is in the first line "I'm so skint", ie - he's broke/in debt.

Bailiffs are debt collectors !

are they? O_o well that makes sense then.  and even more sense if the advent doors were supposed to be like prophecies or something, but i didnt find anything like that.

i did find this interesting tidbit though, from a christian website.

"In the 19th Century, German protestant Christians counted down to Christmas by marking 24 chalk lines on a door and rubbing one off every day in December."

well that seems like the perfect antidote to the dreary abstinence of lent.  it is the season for jollies!

btw, i realised that i do have the vaguest recollection of these panel things with doors containing chocolates around christmas time from when i was super young.

The olds must have brought the wrong calenders for us. we never got chocolates . it was usually some sort of statement or an image of a scene pertaining to the travelling leading up to the birth in the manger scene. no wonder I feel deprived.
