Atomic celebrated its 17th birthday in Sydney over the weekend, and it was quite the shindig. During the party, I got to reminiscing and ended up going through a few old photos from meetups and the like with a few of the attendees.

Now that I'm home in Brisbane, I figured it's time to ask:

What's your favourite Atomic memory?

IMG_0442.JPG

For me, it had to be Irradiate in 2004. Organising Atomic's third birthday celebration with a few fellow Brisbane based atomicans was a thrill, and a memory I'll likely never forget.

I've also uploaded the sum total of meetup pics that I had lurking about my machine, inlcuding photos from the original Fallout (which I wasn't present at, but had images saved from). Please note that none of these images have been named according to the subjects within:

Fallout - that was the one near Cronulla in 2003 wasn't it?  I was there with Chef and Dajabo.  That was the night of hot weather, howling winds through most of SE Aus.  That was the night of the Canberra bushfires.

While partying along, wondering if we'd suddenly have to go back or in fact just what we'd go back to.

Not a favourite moment but a memorable one that I'm thankful for, for reason to become apparent - early 2005 we arranged a camping trip, as it turned out we went to a national park near Bermagui (NSW south coast) for a night.  I travelled down in Tin Reaper's car and we met Lancer2K and Vanna there (I think that was all of us).

On the way home, I requested that Tinnie stop at a nursing home near Bateman's Bay where my grandparents were both staying.  My grandfather had a physical downturn and my grandmother had dementia and couldn't be left alone so went in with him.

While he stayed in the car for the 20 minutes or so I went in and saw my grandparents.  I didn't know at the time but that was the last time I ever saw my grandfather and I'm thankful for it.

(fighting back the tears while typing that)

I'm just about sure I capped that.  Couldn't find it in my Atomic directory though.  I'm guessing that was sometime around March 2005 (the football score corresponds to the AFL pre-season for then).

My favourite moment - not sure.  Maybe early 2002 when I went to Melbourne for a big meet @ Latrobe with Dajobo, Chef, Tin Reaper, Lord Tablespoon.  Probably met 200+ there.

HERE WE GO!

I don't know who's channel I'm stealing from, but someone already has them on youtube!

WATCH THEM AT 1.25x speed.

The 'plot' is very slow moving, but quite the lolz.

I have various things saved also, pretty sure I have the nekkid comps somewhere in giant "OldHDD.zip" archives of mine.

Hmm.

Need to dig through some files.

Just watched this video about companies cheating in the graphics industry, and the guy quotes an article from Atomic done by Justin Robinson... AKA TheFrunj. Made me reminisce the old days.

I located those, I think I got them when I leeched a big batch of "atomic" photos off of squeeks a decade or more ago, decided not to upload to preserve what dignity those people had recovered over the years ;)

Can we please try not to get all creepy middle aged men and go trading nudes from a decade or more ago?
