Similar to what Dasa posted, memory clock has large impact it seems:

So on gaming, it seems to suffer in lower res but high resolution it is spot on... Guru3d had OC all cores to 4.1g and results were good.

Would like to see motherboard roundup from a few sites next, even though I have one on order, just to see where they land

Gaming scores seem only ok... Cpu scores are amazing. Still reading reviews but would like to see OC results and clock to clock compared against Kaby in games. I'm sure they are out there but haven't got to them yet.

Edit:  looks like overclocking is lacking too...  Those that did OC in review that Ive looked at so far (at work so only get to view a bit at a time) didnt have temps...

MB was 140 US. I don't think even Kaby is win7 supported now too.

Got from Newegg in US. Cheapest x370 mb they had. Ordered mydigitalssd m.2 pci x4 120gb for boot, has great specs for price and some ddr4 evga SC 3200 cl16(didn't know they made ram) cheap.

Really hope these OC good and looks like EK are compatible. Any temps anyone find? The talk about extra cooling will increase performance so interested to see what that means

Starting to see price drops on Intel lineup across the board.  Also, rumors of i5 wtih HT and another few K versions to prepare for AMD launch.... Looks like they are scared a bit.

Price is amazing if the performance holds true... Really interested in those 65w versions.

#1185049 Trump wins the election *dies inside*

Posted by gamble on 10 November 2016 - 05:20 AM

Americans are just sick of political figures and all their lies.  Is Trump any better?  Who knows... but they know what they are getting as far as the person (character) and business person.  If Hillary didn't have that smudge on her face with all the emails with top secret files and the Benghazi stuff, it might be her that won.  But, looking at her history, she changed her mind on several key points that were hot this election, from gay marriage, trade and illegal immigrates - almost because she needed the votes.  I think most are just sick of jobs going overseas, heck whole businesses, while still making great profits from low tariffs.

Id be interested in seeing the 3770 vs 6700 in tests with the new card for sure.   I was planning on waiting for zen and see if it is any better than the 3770.

VG248QE from Asus is 144hz and 1080. They might have a newer version out now.

Just ordered one of these monitors.  Reviews seem great for it.  Its 144hz and I guess you can add a gsync module later if wanted.  But with it running that fast not sure it is needed since they reviews mention no tearing.  I kinda wanted to go higher res like 1440 but those are 27" and I don't have room but for 24" max on my desk.  Might be good to keep it at 1080 since my eyes are getting older anyway lol.  At least I should see a huge improvement from my 60hz 21.5" screen :)

#1149361 Fan Controller Including Pump

Posted by gamble on 27 January 2015 - 02:43 AM

The fan controller came in.  It works great!  Its nice that I have my pump under control now and can run it at 50% rpms and still get the same performance as 100%.  I added all the fans that I have slots for (6) and have them all at low settings, the two front and one side really low setting.  I put 4 in the intake position and only have the two rad fans for the exhaust.  Temps have been fine with everything under 70c.  I have some probes I can add but didnt want to bother with it for now, maybe never.... The best part by far is the noise level now!!

I've had PSU do the same thing before smoke and all but didn't try to start it again.  My parts were fine, you never know though...  Might have to just try it out once replaced.

I looked that PSU and appears to have good built in protection:
