QUOTE
Singer Amy Winehouse, 27, has been found dead at her home, the Press Association has reported.

Last month, the north Londoner pulled out of her European tour after she was jeered at her comeback gig in Serbia for appearing too drunk to perform.

For 90 minutes, she mumbled through parts of songs and at times left the stage - leaving her band to fill in.

The troubled singer had a long battle with drink and drugs which overshadowed her musical career in recent years.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman confirmed that a 27-year-old woman had died in Camden and that the cause of death was as yet unexplained.

London Ambulance Service had been called to the flat at 1554 BST and sent two ambulances but the woman died, it said.

I guess it was eventually going to happen, but still, a bit of shock news?

Frankly, I'm astounded that she lived as long as she did. She made Keith Richards' eyebrows rise in disbelief.

Unfortunately for her.. Even though she is now a member of the 27 club, she wont be considered "One of the greats"

In fact I can think of only two songs she sang

RIP anyway though

If there was one celeb who was expected to be in headlines for being dead, it was her.

Im not shocked but yet suprised at the same time. I thought she was getting her life back on track...guess not.

Sure it was going to happen eventually, but I'm still surprised. I mean, 27 is young-ish even for a heroin addict. She must have hit that shit hard.

Saw an interview with her on the music channel int he gym the other day that song where she sings "tehy try to make me go to rehab" was based on when her family tried to give her an intervention, instead of actually goin to rehab she makes a song about it and now turns up dead .... Pretty sad when ppl who loved her tried to reach out only to have it thrown back in their face.

RIP Amy.
I loved her music. 'Valerie' would be one of the best songs released in the last few years.
Very sad, especially at 27.

She was only known to me through the infamous nature of her drug addictions, rather than her music. Which in itself, hinted that this was only a matter of time.

Still, it's sad that this had to reach such a fatal conclusion. RIP.

Amy's parents will not be able to keep her ashes, a Coroners report states its the same as being in posession of a class A drug

I cant say that i'm surprised, it was like watching a freight train going off the rails - you can see it happening, you know how its going to end, and theres nothing you can do to stop it.

Not that I like to speak ill of the dead in the first place, but she was a joke in life, why do you think that's going to change when she dies?

All the same, I hope she's found peace.

She had a sickness. An addiction to drugs.how does that make her a joke? She was a talented 27 year old that needed help. She didn't get it in time. I don't see anything there remotely resembling a joke.
