two questions:
1. can i run this on linux, i'm doing a lot of upgrading ATM so it would help.
2. why don't we try and get lot's of the atomic benchmarks in one forum, e.g. this, gpu bechmarks, an ssd benchmark.

1) No since Windows is more openly accepted as the OS of choice here. This is in terms of professional benchmarking as they go.

2) Can't as most of the benchmark threads are already in their respective sections, if not pinned at the top.

Honestly, I don't know how many questions you need to ask as some of them are quite easily answered with some common sense.

It's not because some benchmarks can't run on Linux. Heck, I've done runs that actually surpass my Windows runs. It's because Linux is quite a niche market. Windows just has more market share which is the crux of the professional benchmark goes. I know you want to promote Linux a lot but you need to understand that situation more.

I have hit a brick wall with this system. I managed to get a slightly better score than previously, but alas I was not able to top the K10 charts. Here is probably my final submission with this system:

Either way this is my good PC, and I don't want to push it any further. Plus if I want to have a crack at overclocking, I have numerous other partial systems I can muck around with. The PC I'm using now has a Core 2 Duo E8400 in it, and I have my old PC (Athlon 64 X2 6400+) on a testbed, which currently holds the K8 SuperPi record (and that was at almost stock settings), plus loads of other crap haha

An evaporative cooler.
either a bong or a Volenti.

Bong coolers work by blowing air up a tube of water, evaporating said water, and getting lower temps from the phase change.


Volenti coolers were invented when an australian guy with the forum name volenti used cloth in his bong.
then naja and a few others on OCN put it sideways and refined the design. what i'm making now is the most recent evolution of the design.

with any of these can get water 15 degrees below ambient if done well enough. search on OCN because everywhere else is missing pics.

There was a run done by Zebra way ages ago. He ran it in linux on a super computer or something cause he got a time of a little over 1 second lol
Not sure why I haven't got it here. Can anyone dig the link for that up again?
The linux version doesn't output a checksum, and the screen shots don't show cpu stats. So will be excluded from rankings due to lack of what verification is possible.

Make sure you take the screen shot after the run is finished. Need to see the checksum at the end so it can be verified should we want to check it's authenticity.
