Also in my second post I started to explain why I didn't want the PRO. A requirement for a CPU fan means it isn't passive. I thought I had made it reasonably clear that I will NOT be buying the ASUS E35M1-M PRO. Unless there is sensible, new discussion on an alternative mob, I will buy the ASUS E35M1-M. and i thought i had made it clear that there is no difference they use the same chip and the same heatsink if one needs a fan so will the other and just because you have a sound card doesnt mean you need it although it will sound better if your speakers are old\cheap and dont have a amp capable of hdmi This post has been edited by Dasa: Sep 3 2011, 02:52 PM -------------------- 2600k@4.8GHz 1.38v - Z77-GENE - 2x4g 1600 8-9-8 - 7970 1150\7000MHz 1.15v - OCZ Synapse 120g Seagate 2tb - Seasonic XP1000 - Dell U2711 - Pioneer Todoroki 5.1

'a requirement'. It would seam you don't understand the word 'accessory'.
"The board ships with a terrible-sounding fan with tonal tendencies. It started at about 1900 RPM (18~19 dBA@1m) when we set the fan control mode to "Standard." Manually set to 1000 RPM (45% in the BIOS or SpeedFan), it was practically inaudible at one meter's distance. At that speed and with the board on full load in an open testing environment, the GPU temperature stabilized at 68°C. The exterior temperature of the heatsink measured just 43°C at its hottest point, and the VRMs stayed below 50°C. We would wager that any microATX case with just a single fan blowing across it indirectly would keep the board cool enough. It does not require much in the way of airflow, especially if you don't stress the GPU. " From Silent PC Review http://www.silentpcreview.com/article1167-page7.html Yep, Asus are kind enough to put a fan in the box for you just in case your pc case does not have enough airflow. -------------------- This post brought to you by, me not playing Portal 2 for a few minutes.

'a requirement'. It would seam you don't understand the word 'accessory'. yep my non pro board seems quite happy with no case fan at all, just the PSU fan for airflow. It is in a matx mini tower though, so a bit more room than some HTPC type cases. As the only difference I can see between the pro and no pro is that the pro has built in wifi then the pro should also be quite happy without the optional heatsink fan. -------------------- She's going to be really smart, very savvy, haunting good looks, really good at her job. And kind of slutty.
