Hi all,

It has been a while since posting anything here because, well, everything has been just peachy. Anyway, I thought I would share an experiance I recently had with my Atomic sub, Haymarket and Paypal. My sub was due to run out and of course in this busy day and age I didn't get to it. Long story short is that renewed but the renewal missed issue #131 and picked up with issue #132. So, with that I went over to the Haymarket website to order a back issue of #131. All good, go through the process and get an email receipt from Paypal saying that Haymarket will show up on my credit card to the sum of $8.95. What could be easier? Well nothing. My gripe here is that Paypal have slugged me $1.00 for that transaction without telling me. This is not listed anywhere and not even when you are on the Paypal site during the process of the transaction. So with that just be careful what you buy online as it not the amount ($1.00) but the way in which you are not told about this during the transaction process. Neither the reciept from Paypal or Haymarket lists the transaction processing fee which is the only thing I can think this is...

My advice to Haymarket/Atomic is to look for another e-commerce payment gateway...

Regards,

Chris

Fuck paypal and the horse it rode in on ! Never had a paypal account and never will to many horror stories. And yay for my debit card, works just like a credit card but only as good as the money I put in the account. :)

Thanks for the feedback there, cjr.

Maybe you should read a little more. They (Paypal) don't advise you of this hidden cost.

are you sure the $1.00 isn't just a paypal verification authorisation?

They do it sometimes, especially if you've changed any personal details recently.

if that's the case, the authorisation will be cancelled after a few days, and you get your buck back again.
