So i'm off to Tokyo in 4 weeks and i want to get a compact camera for the holiday.
Been looking around and found: http://www.jbhifi.com.au/photo/digital-cam...mera-sku-82090/ ![]() Just want something with decent optical zoom and at least 720p video. Any idea's on something that may be a bit better? This is not my area of expertise so any help would be super duper! -------------------- So many games...

Ken Rockwell likes the Canon S100
I like his reviews, though he's not real popular with some in the photo industry. I think thats just because he's not afraid to call a shit product shit... -------------------- Sometimes I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the Universe is that none of it has tried to contact us...

The S100 has had some very good reviews, so I don't think that it's just Ken Rockwell. Might want to check out http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canons100/ for another review... It is however a little more spendy than some other P&S cameras.
The WB150F doesn't seem to be getting horrible reviews.. It looks like it may not have the highest image quality but you'll be hard pressed finding that kind of zoom for the same price.. I guess it depends what is more important to you. -------------------- Out of my mind, be back eventually.

I just checked ebay, that camera is about $190 delivered which is pretty good. I managed to save about $300 off my camera by not buying it from Harvey Norman.

It could be worth waiting until you hit Tokyo to pick up the camera too, they are extremely competitive on prices over there, unlike here in Australia. The only problem would be warranty, but if you're only spending $250 it's not really an issue.
I got my cheap DSLR (550D) around 2 years ago in Singapore, saved roughly $450 compared to AU prices (came with a starter 8-19mm lens). I figured saving that kind of money is worth the warranty risk, and if something did break, hopefully the repair would cost me around $450 anyway (that and it only has a 6 month warranty to begin with). -------------------- Intel i5 3570 @ 4.5GHz - Gigabyte OC HD7970 @ 1150MHz - 16GB G.Skill Ripjaws @ 1866MHz - ASUS Maximus V Gene - Antec EA-650W Platinum - Fractal Design Define Mini - Noctua NH-U12P SE2 - 10TB Network Storage - OCZ Vertex 3 240GB (Steam) - Corsair Force GT 3 120GB (OS+BF3).

Yeah i did look into this option. I hit up a couple of sites in Japan for stores around Akihabara(electric town) and to be honest I found that the prices were very similar to here, with only a saving of around $20-$30 for cameras with the same functions. I would rather hit the ground with a camera in hand as from day 1 i will be running around to see as much as possible. @Harmonic, fuck me i didnt even think of ebay! I must be on drugs.
