Here is the link:
http://www.kogan.com.au/shop/8-inch-tablet-pc-android/

Looks okay for $129 - compared to $500+ for an iPad or Galaxy Tab.

Gripes:
- 3 hour battery
- only 4GB storage
- Only running Android 2.3 (would this be easy to upgrade to say, ICS?)

Pros:
- Cheap
- Microphone and Webcam built in

What do you guys think?

Great for the price, you'll need more than 4GB of storage though.

Put it this way, it's priced cheap for a reason.

yea i am not considering this for myself. i've no need for a tab, but someone asked me about it given that i usually know my tech.
it seems less powerful than my galaxyII in almost very way..

any other cheap tab alternatives, that may be any better?

Can't you plug a USB drive into it?

Def wouldn't touch it now it's $279. I have an older 7" from them. The rom is not great. It's not a 3g tablet yet 90% of the battery life disappears on cellular standby and sssoooo many apps are not compatible with it. Does the job as a media player for a 3yo though.

I guess the $129 was just a promotional price because it's worth $279 now. But anyway, I do agree with others here that tablets like this are priced low for a reason. the very first thing that comes to mind is the quality and it would always be the biggest issue for these kinds of devices.

I would always go for a device with a higher price as long as I have the guarantee of getting good quality and a i can use it for several years.
