hi there everyone, I've been trying to search online to see what memory and how much memory a Compaq Presario CQ43 laptop will support but cant find details so far online, is anyone able to shed some light here because me mate wants to upgrade the memory in it. Atm it has 2gb total installed, that's all the info I am able to tell you at this point in time.

From a quick google, looks like it supports up to 8GB of DDR3 1333MHz (aka PC3-10600). You'll need to check if it has 2x 1GB or 1x 2GB stick already and either buy an additional 1x 2GB to bring you up to 4, or perhaps 2x 4GB to bring it up to 8GB. Something like this would probably be ideal.
Here is a link to the manual, check page 45. -------------------- i7 2600k | Z68A-GD80 | 8GB RAM | HD7970 | 120GB SSD | 1kW PSU | Butchered Case | Water Cooling | U2713H
HP N40L | 16GB RAM | 6x WD 2TB | Ubuntu | ZFS |
