yeah my monitors are pretty bright I guess...LED backlit, but I've calibrated mine too, using Spyder 2. I guess the final proof is in the printing.

I'll have to check out the Sigma a bit...I've recently changed my mind from the Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 to the 100mm f/2.8 Macro Pro, because it can double as a macro, and has standout reviews. Its a few hundred buck less than the Sigma so it seems more an attractive proposition at the moment.

Didn't think that guys sigs were terribly great. At least you called him out.

that's weird, you'd think we both calibrated using spyder it would look the same or at least close...

100mm macro is fun, and for ultra wide angle...look into saving for a nikkor 14-24...even on crop it's still 21mm on your D7000 and then you are ready for FF too...downside is the cost of that lens is super high lol

and yea...still waiting to see if he replies to me as to where on deviantart he saw my pic (assuming it's true)

thanks guys, really loving my new lens, was surprised at the keeper rate even when shooting @1.4

@Antraman, histogram looked very good in lightroom, i recently just had my monitor calibrated using Spyder 3 Elite...perhaps your monitor's setting too bright?

also i recommend you to pick up that Sigma 85mm 1.4 as your next lens if you want to get more into portraiture, for the money it really is a fantastic lens

on a side note my pic was used without consent...bit annoyed

Try google's image search. Not the search for image thing but the chrome plugin that allows you to right click on a picture and search the net for it. That should help track the fucker down ;)

Dunno. It's officially called 'Search by Image (by Google)'

Have a looksee and see if you can find it.

Indeed I did, and found one. It works as intended, however, bbf's image didn't come up in the search. So what does that mean?

It means that it is either recent enough that it hasn't yet been indexed by google, that its on a site that's not indexed by google or that it's not out there.

realised i did very little shooting in melbourne, spent most of the time eating and trying out coffee (my mate's a huge coffee guy), but here's a shot from the trip

They're so wonderful and mystic.

great photo, for some reason these birds are always dificult to get right, they always sit in the share against a brighter background.
