Steelseries Sensai, Tis' gone mousepoo! Help!!

Need your help.

My Sensai has started playing up. Every 10-20min it seems. The bugger seems to get caught on an angle. Either horizontal, vertical or 45degree.

Seems to happen a lot while playing BF3. Which makes me quite sad, of course. :( It kind of reminds me of the old ball-track mouse, when they got too gunky, and you would lose a plane of operation.

Or when some fucker in the IT dept at work, would decide to remotely take control of your PC without warning, and your wondering why you have to fight for control of the damned thing all of a sudden.

So. I have updated the firmware, and software. Checked for blockages around the lasers. And belted the mouse pad against my knee to remove dust. NO JOY!!!

Any help would be much appreciated. TA.

Change USB slots, also get a soft brush and make sure the laser lens is clean, and make sure your mouse pad is also clean. Other than that it may just be on the way out.

Thanks for your response bowiee. I believe it may just be on the way out, like you say. Which is a real shame since I only just it a couple of months ago. And wasn't cheap as chips. Oh well. :(

I just got one of these a couple of weeks ago. A mouse failing after a couple of months doesnt sound good. A good mouse should last quite a while with normal use. Of course if it is being hammered daily then this will increase wear an tear. But not really on the laser I would think. Im pretty happy with mine. The software that comes with it to tweak dpi and stuff is easy to use.

It could be a driver or software problem. As suggested try a different usb slot and I would add unistall the software that came with it. Reboot.

Also as was mentioned warranty?

Just noticed there is a new version of the steel series engine out - came out yesterday - lots of improvements - download this to your desktop - run it and it will uninstall the previous engine and drivers. Then run the exe again to install the new stuff. NOTE also under the settings tab in the software is an option to restore everything to factory DEFAULT. Coulkd also be worth a go.

Also latest firmware is 244.

Thanks guys. I must have downloaded new drivers, just an hour or two before the new ones were released. :) So I'm trying them now. Fingers crossed.

I guess I can take it back under warranty if there's still issues. But haven't yet ruled out the problem being with windows.

Oh, and lol at the spelling of the thread title. Spelling fail. Again.

Just an update for anyone who may experience the same problem.

The new drivers seem to have fixed the problem.

Thanks for the help you guys supplied.

Another update on this. Again, if anyone experiences the same problem.

It seems my freemove may have been way too low for my old Steelseries 5L mouse mat.

It may not be a good idea to have it too low at any rate.

I own this particular mouse as well and swear by it.

It is very good but comes with some teething problems that I believe is due to the ARM controlled interface.

I had to have a play with the settings inside of the Steelseries engine to get it optimally set up but since settling on a configuration, in combination with my mouse pad(Razor Destructor), it is seriously one of the smoothest and most accurate combinations I have found and I have tested a quite few different mice.

Great piece of kit even with the software bugs.

Also with this particular problem. (Mouse not tracking properly. Problems updating firmware (the failure at 41 seconds bug)).

The thing was always, plain and simply fucked, it seems. It has now completely died, after numerous problems. And will be RTM'm.

I still think its a good mouse though. And are looking forward to the replacement.
