So, we post our pretty pics here and slap each other on the back saying how great they are...are we ready to take it to the next level and put them out there in the big bad world...of public exhibitions and competitions?
I came across a couple here on the Australian Photography Society's website. I might have a crack at 2 of these 37th APS National Exhibition - DIGITAL 2012/12, Entries Close 30th June 2012 Entry Online form 4 images allowed in each of the categories Open, Nature, Creative, Monochrome, Photojournalism. Images in sRGB jpeg of max 1600x1200 pixels and 1.5MB size, submitted digitally. and 37th APS National Exhibition - PRINTS 2012/12, Entries close 3rd August 2012, Entry Form 4 images allowed in each of the categories Monochrome, Colour, Nature, Photojournalism/Social Commentary, People, Youth. Prints mounted to fit within a matt of 16x20 inches. $11 per category. Anyone else up for a go? 8) -------------------- Sometimes I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the Universe is that none of it has tried to contact us...

Anyone else up for a go? 8) Been meaning to join the APS for a while as the standard of members prints is generally outstanding, I think it's Better Photography that is the 'member magazine'. Maybe this is the impetus needed. However, I'm having difficulty finding 3 prints that I would be happy to print on canvas in large format for the house so finding 1 that I think is of sufficient quality to enter these is going to be even more difficult. On the more interesting side being part of a group of real photograpers, including professionals, could be quite enlightening and help technique. -------------------- Stupidity is a condition, ignorance is a choice, don't make it...

Go for it, man. It seems pretty high profile, and its an exhibition mostly, just that they will pick the best in each category and award a medal or something. Either way, pretty cool.
I think I have a couple of pics I can put in several categories. Just gotta make sure the printing and framing adheres to exhibition specs... -------------------- Sometimes I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the Universe is that none of it has tried to contact us...
