I have been a user since mandriva2010.10 then I got sick of that when 2012 failed me horribly and moved onto the new fork (plus Rosa is absolute shite), there were little users from what I knew of back then
Now interestingly Mageia is ranked #2 on distrowatch and #3 depending on who you ask, how long that lasts I don't know. I have enjoyed using Mageia and it has good support especially over IRC/forums. I've had a few problems with my installation that I caused (I being the keyword.) but this is finally a distro I feel comfortable being a contributor/part of. Although ubuntu was a nice system Mandriva was still more stable on my crappy laptop back then and that's what put me off Ubuntu originally(and unity). My quest to find the right distro came down to two things, it had to have a nice easy package manager and it had to be stable, the only distro that has came close on my crappy Toshiba notebook is linuxmint, linuxmint is nice I just dont like the package manager even though its a sweet system and I have no rite to complain bowt its package manager I just think personally Mageia has a better one (even though mageias could do with a facelift). and apart from that with Mageia its really easy to fix things you might break is what I have found. I got Mageia 2 on this box, and Mageia Cauldron on an other.
I settled on Mandriva, just as the name changed from Mandrake. I had tried a few others, Debian, RedHat, Fedora, Knoppix(Debian) was the first real Linux system I found usefull. I haven't stopped learning ever since. -------------------- "Everything depends upon relative minuteness".
