On the topic of the Aussie flag been changed and the republic and all that:

1. We should keep the flag they way it is. Flags are there to represent history,people etc and are usefully changed when a big event in that country occurs (such as a republic is formed)

2. Yes, i agree that national anthem doesnt make sense (what is it about anyway?) but its what it is and any effort to change it will just end it chaos.

3. the currency is fine how it is and the head of state on the back of coins (the queen) shouldnt be changed as it ties to history.

4. If some people are jumping up and now about stuff that happened centuries ago why dont we just become a republic or even better..why not a dictatorship? :P

5. All countries have had bad history yet dont dewll on it all the time so why should we? grow up and get on with life. bad shit happens..deal with it.

1. Flags are changed all of the time for various reasons, there doesn't need to be a drastic change in the states, regions or federation for a change in a countries flag.

2. We used to sing God Save the Queen, was it chaos when we left that behind?

3. Who cares if it ties to history? We used to use different symbols and figure heads on our paper notes and pence (pennies), but that changed didn't it? Some coins even had the head of The King on them. I'm mainly arguing this point for arguments sake though, but just because we've had the head of the queen on our currency for our recent history, isn't a reason to keep it that way. I do agree with you though, as long as we're a part of the Commonwealth we should have our monarchs head, crest or seal on our coins.

4. Aren't you the one wanting to conserve and remember the history of our flag/coin/anthem? I assume the second part of your statement / question is sarcasm.

5. I understand your point, but it's still a little cold to put it like that. People just want acknowledgement that these things happened. I know I had nothing to do with the murders, rape and abductions of the Aboriginal people in our country, but that doesn't mean I should tell people to "get fucked and move on" like a lot seem to do. "Sorry Day" was a good thing, as much as some people piss and moan about it not being our generations (or the couple before us) problem. Saying sorry wasn't hard, and it meant a lot to a significant group of people so why not just do it?

1. Yes,that is true, i was just using that as a example.

2. Yes, it didnt end it choas but what i mean by chaos is becuase of how the world is today every little group would want a say in the anthem when it should represent the whole nation and a whole and what the county is about/stands for etc.

3. Yes, your right about when we had the kings head on the pennies/shillings etc. I agree with what you agree about in saying that we should some sort of represnation of been tied to the commonweath (monarchs head)

5. Yes What i said is cold and might not of been the right thing to say. I aggree with you in saying people need to be acknoledged though.
