Hi everyone

I've got a question I have a Asus GTX 560 DC/2DI/1GD5 DirectCUand I'm wondering if a ARCTIC COOLING ACCELERO TWIN TURBO II will be compatible with it?

The main reason I want to get one is I really just want to mkae my graphics card more quite and a little bit cooler, also does anyone own the Arctic Cooler? If so is it quiet and how does it perform?

Thanks

I think if you read through the item description, you will find the answer to your question.

I know the arctic cooler says it's compatible with GTX 560 but I'm not sure if it will work with my ASUS GTX 560.

A quick google search suggest that your card has a non-reference PCB which the cooler might not fit on-to. Dont take my words though as I myself am not sure. Ive got a Gigabyte GTX 560 OC and it has a custom PCB. But the cooler on my card is already good enough anyways.

heatsinks like that are fairly universal and the chances of them not fitting are very slim
the vrm placement may be a bit different so you will just have to be careful that they are all well covered which may even require you getting extra small heatsinks to glue on
cant find any pcb shots of that card to compare to reference

Well that's a pain but I might just wait a little bit because apparently the 7970 GHz edition is coming out soonish (just got paid woohoo!). I think I will just wait for that, buy a refrence design card and then put this Arctic 7970 cooler on it and see how I go.
Because there is not point in risking it for no reason if the Accelero was compatible with a 7970 then I would have tried it but it's not.

Thanks for the help

I have 2x GTX560 Direct CU's - I reckon the cooler already on them's great. they each idle around 35c, and never go much over 60c - I've had AC Accelero's in the past, and I don't like them at all. they were very badly made/designed imho - maybe they've lifted their game
from my memories of them, I certainly wouldn't swap the CU's existing coolers for them.

My GTX 560 isn't bad it maxes out at 70*C during Furmark with a reasonable overclock. But it's pretty noisy which is why I wanted to change it.

Furmark isn't a good way to determine noise levels as you certainly won't hit those limits. Your best bet would be real life application and 80% of the time, you won't need to change the coolers.

yeh, that's what I reckon, 2x of the same card don't bother me, they have an excellent cooler on them already, I wouldn't be changing them for anything short of H2O blocks.
