Well, this is different. For me anyhow. Was browsing and reading a few blogs and the like, link-hopping as I'm prone to, and came across this one, http://www.locutus.us/For-a-single-player-...untry-is-banned , which I found kinda amusing. Seems someone upset another so badly the other (clearly having some admin control0 imposed a ban on all players in the entire country (this country being Turkey). WTF? Just teensy bit extreme don't ya think?
Also, thias cached page shows where it was finally found out why people in turkey could not connect to the site or game servers. http://209.85.229.132/search?q=cache:_eaID...=tr&strip=1 I mean, I know some people can be persisitent, change IP, and try all manner of tricks to get back into some places, but banning the entire country, just to keep them out? I can just see DMB getting all of Australia banned from some site or other at this rate. :P Anyone else heard about other stuff like this? The proposed "Net Filter" doesn't count by the way. :P -------------------- There are a lot of guys out there who are phony tough, and a few who are the real thing. Now the way you can tell who is who, is, the true bad ass is the quiet one, the guy who doesn’t need to run off at the mouth, doesn’t start shit, and doesn’t need the world to know how tough he is.

I haven't heard of anything like this happening before and frankly, I think this sort of behaviour is ridiculous.
If I was a person higher up than the mod who banned Turkey and found out about this, I would have banned the person responsible. It's definitely the most retarded moderator decision I've ever heard about. -------------------- Peace, Love, Unity and Respect.

I originally thought it must be a joke, but did some further research and sadly enough, found it to be true. Weird. How anyone thought they could do this and NOT puiss a lot of people off is anyone's guess. Seriously, millions of people blocked just because one person annoyed them. The definition of retarded just grew considerably. -------------------- There are a lot of guys out there who are phony tough, and a few who are the real thing. The definition of retarded just grew considerably. If the country wide ban is persistent, then there's obviously more than one moderator aware of the ban and they agree with it. United we stand, divided we fall and all of that gumph.Weird. How anyone thought they could do this and NOT puiss a lot of people off is anyone's guess. Seriously, millions of people blocked just because one person annoyed them. One ISP was banned. Turkey only has the one ISP? Damn, that'd suck!

I know several private trackers have country IP or ISP IP total range bans in place, and for very good reason.
These countries or specific ISPs seem to have an exceptionally high proportion of cheats to decent members. As much as 90% in some case. -------------------- quote by 17

I've seen it happen on smaller sites, particularly ones where a user is on a dynamic IP from an ISP, the moderator/administrator does a default ban on the IP range known to the user to keep him out and ends up blocking everyone who uses those IPs later.
