Yeah! 870s are kickass. You remember that Anandtech article?
It performs really well. Where are you getting it from as a matter of interest? -------------------- || Intel Core i7 875k | Gigabyte P55A-UD6 | 4GB G.Skill Trident DDR3 1600MHz | EVGA GTX465 | Patriot Pyro 120GB | Samsung Spinpoint F1 1TB | Pioneer DVR-216 | Corsair HX-650 | Lian Li A71 | Logitech G15 | Razer DeathAdder V2 ||

Why not go for an i7 930 or 950? Price, I'm guessing. X58 boards are costly compared to P55 boards. -------------------- KEN SENT ME

True, but the 870 is around 50-60 bucks more than an i7 930, so it kind of evens out the price...

Just so you know it is illegal to buy/sell Engineering Sample cpu's and I know it doesn't happen but intel can prosecute you or something for it.

Or would I have to use a H55/57 board with the 670? No, you can have your P55 board run it.

after looking at how the gigabyte comp went there dosent seem to be much advantage to i5 670 vs i3 530 except maybe a higher chance that it will overclock well
