The link names could be the date on which the post was made. For instance:

- Aug 19 2010

That could be the format we use, possibly. For example, anyone looking at say my posts will see when I posted them, and can see how my PC's have changed over time

That an okay idea?

EDIT: The only other issue is dead links. I guess when I set it up for the first time, I'll concentrate only on all the posts which have/had pictures in them. Afterwards, I may put something like (Pictures Missing) after the link

Link directly back to the thread, that way you get no dead links and if a post does have a dead link on it, then don't post it.

This is going to take you ages to do as it is, don't make it harder on yourself by doing anything unnecessary.

Yup, looks good to me, what I was getting at, was there shouldn't be any dead links, because you're linking straight back to the thread and because you have to manually get each post's URL first, you won't be adding any dead links (Or atleast I would imagine?)

Yeah, it will work fine. What I meant was if the pictures users have linked in their respective posts don't exist anymore, I'll still add that post to the OP, but will add a note saying the pictures are no longer there

Turns out I can't have posts added to the start of the thread, so I've gotta hope that all the information I put in there fits in 1 post. Will have to my the photo's I put in there else where

I don't think theres a point, if someone allows their image links to die, then its their own fault, it seems pointless linking to a dead image, as you wont see anything :P

Righto. Any ideas about what I should do now though, that I can't get more posts added at the start

EDIT: Just saw you post then. Merge might be an alright idea actually, as then I could add a few posts at the start, and have this thead stuck on after it. Hopefully that is possible. Is it?

if you do start another one, my suggestion would be building and troubleshooting, not tech talk, and get it pinned.
not sure if there was a reason it was initially in tech talk though, so if there was.. carry on :)

I second this. I always look for this thread in building and troubleshooting. It just seems more logical.

Funny having comments about how dustless my case. The secret is the Vacuum Cleaner. I vacuum our house everyday and as a result there isn't much dust :).

that case looks so empty and so clean, unlike my dust trap.

Yeah I have just been overclocking the cpu a bit more to 4,8ghz,might try to clock the ram a bit higher than 2133 later,I just ran both 3dmark11 and vantage and got P40055 for vantage and P11063 for 3dmark11,I'll see if I can get 5ghz on the cpu later for a few more points.

Best idea is this:

Start new thread similar to what I did with the gamer ID thread, reserve the first few posts (ask a mod nicely and they will remove any posts by people that arent you to make sure you have a few reserved), just make sure you put a disclaimer in the first post either asking people not to post (so you can post after 15 minutes) or just mentioning that you do need to reserve the first few posts that and if someone does post, you will request that it is deleted just to keep the flow of the thread.

For the OP, do what you wanted to, get links to each individual post in this thread, request this thread be locked when you post the new thread, then just let new posts filter in there.

My reasoning is this: If you are adding all the posts of peoples rigs to the OP, then you don't need the old posts from this thread anymore and you can start a new one. If there is any interesting discussion you notice that you think may be useful to someone, you could always link that part of the thread as well.

All in all, its really up to how much effort you want to put into it, just Report! a post in this thread and explain the situation, the mods will help you out. :)

Yup - a STICKY would be a great idea - there is no reason you couldnt get one for an Atomic Rig Thread if we asked nicely.
