Don't remind me =( I was about to pre-order Diablo 3 Collectors Edition from Frys in America and then discovered to get it here it would cost $109 -_____- So much for any saving, so I delayed it and haven't had time to look at where else I could get it for a decent price. Seeing as everywhere in Australia wants $200 minimum and mainly $250 for it =\.
$99 for a game is ok but whoa nelly $10 for shipping is batshit insane?

Not sure if you read that properly but they were wanting $99 for the Collector's Edition on top of that the shipping was another $109...That is what is batshit insane not a measly $10 I would have bought it then and there for $10 on top for postage.

Does it come with a lead statue or something weighing it down?

One thing I really love about D3, is how easy it is to join games with your friends now, so simple, its great.

Too easy, perhaps.

A friend was playing with his girlfriend, having a nice little RP session. I joined and did a quest...oh god the amount of rage I encountered. I RUINED their game!

i am glad that im getting a hard copy 15gb is /sigh - even at 1mb/sec

o.O

Either you need to employ your shift key more often, or you are seriously impatient.

id rather go from work, to game, pick up pre-order, go home, install (and possible day 0 update), and play

rather then waiting a couple hours for it to download

don't see whats seriously impatient about that :S

edit: though i could just be me but meh....

I have 30gig/month. Half gone for 1 game? No thanks. If released through steam, it's quota free.

Besides, if you buy the game and have the dvd, you also get access to the downloader on battlenet if you so choose in future.

I'm getting DVD because it'll be easier.. 2 PCs to order it for. I'm thinking 1 x digital, 1 x dvd. Thus save a little money. Use the legit keys, but dvd installer for both.

I suspect Cybes was referring to the difference between MB and Mb. At 1MB/sec you would download 15GB is about 4 hours 15 mins. Given Blizzard's record for managing downloads, you prolly won't have to download the entire 15GB before u will be able to play it.

Lol.. you catch them in the middle of something eh :P

I'm fairly certain you can setup "invite only" games. If they wanted privacy, shouldn't have made the game public.

My Diablo-III-8370-enUS-Installer folder is sitting at 7.6GB. Tho' that's not necessarily any better if you still don't have that much quota to spare.

Anyone know if JB-Hifi has started selling boxes yet?

Given the game can't actually be played until the official launch anyway, I wondered if they'd break street date to sell it.

If any store actually started selling copies before May 15th there would be hell to pay I'm sure.

It's unlikely.

Nope. We haven't even shipped them out yet. Why talk about broken street dates when they don't have the damn stock?

Would there be that much of a repercussion? After all the game can't be activated and played until the 15th anyway.

There would be if someone greatly skilled managed to get the game working in offline mode. Remember the DVD will be "ready to go" as in it will install the entire game to completion, unlike the download install which is compressed and encrypted.

Who knows, I'm sure there is someone out there who could get a working version of the game together in 11 days if they had the complete install files. That is a long shot, but I'm sure no stores will risk selling early any way, it would quickly become public knowledge a store was sending boxes out early, and Blizzard / their distributors would find out very shortly after.

It's arguably not worth pissing off Activision / Blizzard / Their Distributors just to make a couple of grand before D3 launch.
