fredzfrog, I don't know how you're going to top that hat for next years - it was a shocker. Maybe that could be next years compo? :) Bad Hat Con? (Sounds too much like TF2 to me)
Just home from it myself - 4.5hrs drive both ways - was a bit trepid about making the trip - some of these things are less than storm in a teacup, but then again I have never been to an Atomic event. Thankfully I was wonderfully surprised, well worth the trip, even though no 'major' prizes for me. I can't believe how much stuff Corsair was throwing about! And I needs me one of those new K60 or K90 keyboards - it is time to retire my 1985 IBM Model 'M' clicky keyboard. Bring on December. A big props to the exhibitors there, everyone so eager to discuss stuff, and also load you up with stuff. Also to Atomic and Monash for such a great event - I'll be back next year. A special shout out to the Corsair Girls - standing there all day with hundreds of gear geeks trying to score free stuff on the wheel of misfortune, and doing it the whole time with a smile. In 6 inch heels. That's impressive. Only down side? Walking through the door of the auditorium and Hawkeye giving the first few of us a T-Shirt - awesome I say! And then getting home to look at it and realise it's not a Skyirm t-shirt ... but that other game Bethesda has just released. All in all, a fantastic day. Bring on #2! |
