More suggestions that desktop Ivy is coming sooner rather than later.
QUOTE Remember that article from the other day that made some people panic as Intel might've delayed Ivy Bridge to June? Well, there's no need to be worried if you're planning on getting a new desktop system, as none of the desktop parts that were originally meant to launch have been delayed and on the mobile side, only the dual core models have been pushed back. -------------------- i5 3570K | ASRock Z77-E ITX | 8 GB G.Skill DDR3 @ 2200 CL11 | EVGA GTX 670 @ 1.06 GHz (Base) / 1.27 GHz (Max Boost) / 7.0 GHz (Mem) | 500GB Seagate 7200.11 | 5TB Media Storage | Seasonic G-550 | BitFenix Prodigy 'Yang' | BenQ 2750 | Logitech G19 | Logitech G500

I'm looking at the 3820 model compared to the 3770... it's pretty much now redundant now?
I'm looking forward to ivy bridge and sell my 1090t and finally switch to the dark side |

Pretty much eh, unless you were to need those 40 (as opposed to 20) PCIe 3.0 paths but not want all the extra CPU threads it's totally pointless.

@ philo and others that maybe interested, I've actually gotten word that stock for the CPUs are in bound for Australia. So I'm guessing within a month we'll have the Ivy Bridge launch.

The more im looking at the data coming out the harder i am finding it to justify going from my Sandy 2600K to an Ivy. Really not that much difference in the real world at all.

The more im looking at the data coming out the harder i am finding it to justify going from my Sandy 2600K to an Ivy. Really not that much difference in the real world at all. after reading aandtechs 3770k article, id say the powersavings (under load) alone should be worth it. personally im hoping the power savings (again under load conditions) when they bring 6core ivy's on lga2011 should be even better. Combine it with a keplar GPU and Z77 mobo and you got a quick fast and highly overclockable system..:D also, the 2nd link doesnt work for non members of XS (i want to sign up but you need to pay) -------------------- Atomic's wannabe LN2 Junkie

Well 5Ghz on 1.2X Vcore looks like we could see 5.5+ 24/7 on reasonable volts

It's still BLCK/Multi limited, if it weren't then it would likely come close to taking the frequency WR from Bulldozer

Looks interesting :) Whilst it's nice to see the extra performance, like most people I'd guess, it's the MHz speed increases that hold interest for me. Hope we do see 6GHz stable... And thanks for the news on availability sora3.

Well, I was surprised when I got the notice philo. I thought it would be another 2 months but evidently not. I'm guessing mobile parts are delayed since S-B is still selling rather well so getting rid of old inventory is necessary.
