The TA is a TV version where as the SA is a monitor. Everything that I've had a go at has run flawlessly on my stock 6950 so your 6970 should be fine plus for games that are hard to get working or you don have the grunt the monitor can create a synthetic 3D that is pretty damn good, although no where near as good as proper 3D

The monitor itself is just awesome. I know that a lot of people will say go for a dell IPS panel but I really love my S27A950. Most of the time the 3D for games is just as simple as running it through the launcher but the 3D can suck to get running in a few games - I'm having trouble with DeusEX and Skyrim but the other games that I've tried are GREAT! Assassin's Creed Brotherhood is really amazing in 3D.

I know a lot of people are going to say that 3D is a waste of time but personally I find it helps immerse you more and is a lot of fun. If you can try it first (its a lot like the 3D you get from a 3D tv but much deeper and more detailed for games) then you'll be able to decide for yourself if you like it.

just got one of these a week or so ago - highly recommend it!! now i just need to sort out a graphics card setup to run games at max details setting at around 120fps...

havent tried it out in 3d yet, will when i have time.

btw, don't get the TA version - it has no DVI input. Which basically means you won't be able to get it running at 120hz from your computer as you need DVI dual-link for this.

Can I hijack this thread? Yes.

I'm looking at buying either the s23a750 or the s27a750 in the next month.

Just wondering which way I should go. I want 27" 120hz but I'm worried about the resolution only being 1080 on a large screen. And with the 23" I'm worried i will be disappointed with such a small increase from my current 22". They should have made it 24" IMO.

Any help from you guys would be very much appreciated.

And in regards to 120hz, you need either dp or dual dvi to have it.

I too was also looking at the Sammy, but went with the Asus VG278H (I had a gift card for HN and they didn't have the samsung in stock). So far I'm really impressed with the screen. 3D works well and no discernible lag during gameplay. I have my xbox and pc hooked up to it. I'm happy with the purchase.
