For anyone here who didn't read PC PowerPlay at my time there (I assume most of you(Don't worry I'm not easy to offend)), I was working there for just short of two years, and worked pretty hard to improve their Tech Section from something people just skimmed through, to something similar to the Atomic of old. Adding new ideas, articles and stories to the mix, as well as some air and water-cooled overclocking (and the odd bit of LN2). Hopefully I have a chance to do some bigger and better things over here at Haymarket Media, as they have given me responsibilities for both Atomic and PC & Tech Authority.

Cheers!

Shouldn't that be "I'm not easily offended"?

Just trying to help :P

Oh, Welcome!

Yes, I play 2-3 nights per week if that counts as regular.

I'm not in an active clan though, so I generally end up flying solo and getting stomped by 5-man teams with proper hero picks. Meanwhile my team roles 4 agility carries and I almost give up before the round even begins.

I don't play as often, but have similar experiences sometimes.
If you stay away from casual mode, I find it's a little better. Gradually building up a friend list of people I play with.

I'm loving Artesia atm, TBH.
I've played two games with bombadier/artesia.

I was nuclear_winter at first, then I joined [FnL^] and changed my name to NukeJockey, so much of my time in WON and indeed DOD itself I was [FnL^NukeJockey].

Oh wow - I remember them, quite a blast from the past! I don't know if I remember seeing your name, though (blame it on my old age!). That was the one thing I never achieved, getting into a clan, and both my brother and I were really good players; but I think my temper back then may have had something to do with it.

Welcome to the Forums!
When you say that you're a homebrew enthusiast, you do mean Beer don't you? I was a hombrewer for years, before I had to give up alcohol, unfortunately, because of medical reasons. That was one of the sorriest days of my life. I had just started buying up the parts I needed for (quite illegally) distilling my own Cognac.
I have a few recipes that you may like, including my own take on Guiness Extra Stout. Everybody I've given a blind taste-test to has chosen my recipe over Guiness, without a single exception. I was also a founding member of "Zymurgy" magazine. I'd really hate for my personal recipes to be lost. BTW, they all abide by the Reinheitsgebot Bavarian Purity Law of 1516. Nothing but water, malted barley, yeast and hops. No fruit or any other weird crap allowed!
As far as computers, I have a problem I need discussed and helped with. The problem with finding a waterblock that's compatible with my revision of the GTX590. Nvidia produced a new revision of the GTX590 pcb, which started being sold in June, 2011, and is not compatible with waterblocks that the individual manufacturers will only confirm as being compatible with "Reference" Nvidia pcb's. They all fail to take into consideration that there are 2 versions of the same card. The newest has taller "inductors", whatever they are, which will leave the original waterblocks from fitting the latest revision by 1/8th of an inch. I bought my 1st GTX590 in October, 2011 and the 2nd, for quad-SLi, just 2 weeks ago. I'll post about that later, in the appropriate thread.
Here's to you, pal!
Cheers!

Hey Kzinti1,

Yes, I meant beer.

I have a couple of recipes on rotation already, but adding more to the book can never hurt if they are good enough ;) I've never been a huge fan of Guiness to be perfectly honest, the head is too thick for how watery the beer actually is. In my opinion it needs a little more roasted malt, but that is just the type of Stout I enjoy I guess.

As for your problem, has Nvidia or who ever you are getting your information from informed you when the new revision of card came into circulation? If it is less than two months you may need to wait for a new revision of cooler to hit the market for it. Fail that have you tried the Cooling Configurator yet? It's a long shot as it is for EK blocks only, but it's worth a try.

If you have tried getting in contact with manufacturers and they have no plans to create a new block revision for the GTX590 you only have three options really.

1. Trade the card for an older one + a small cash difference
2. Buy a universal block instead of full cover
3. Sell the card and stick with the one

Heya Matt.

I can vouch for the work Unco has done on PCPowerPlay and the forums. I get both PCPP and Atomic so I'm cheering I read the mag Matt has moved onto.

Look forward to see what you write without the Next Media bean counters holding you back.

Still I'm a big fan of both mags so take the Atomic trolls lol :-P

This theme though... whoever designed it should be fired, it's killing my eyes! Can I change it somehow? =/
