Thought someone might like to see the results of Tom's tests of air coolers and the results:
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/LGA-20...ng,3130-17.html Only the last 4 pages are worth looking at. The value chart was interesting! Here is some reference temp charts: http://www.frostytech.com/articleview.cfm?...2639&page=4 http://www.frostytech.com/articleview.cfm?...2639&page=5 This post has been edited by gamble: Feb 17 2012, 06:56 AM -------------------- C.M. looks like the thermalright archon 1000rpm fan strugles a bit with the extra heat of the 3960x @4.6ghz 1.4v being 8c hotter than the nh-d14 and 2c hotter than the cm 212 evo but still does well with the lowest noise level
stick it on a 2500k and it beats the cm 212 and is very close to the nh-d14\silver arrow\water units for temperatures -------------------- 2600k@4.8GHz 1.38v - Z77-GENE - 2x4g 1600 8-9-8 - 7970 1150\7000MHz 1.15v - OCZ Synapse 120g Seagate 2tb - Seasonic XP1000 - Dell U2711 - Pioneer Todoroki 5.1
