There's a big difference between an iPad and an iPod. Not just a single vowel.

You will regret the purchase IMO. I had one for a few weeks and soon learned that didn't fill any purpose better than the numerous other gaming/portable/computing devices in my house.

Bad time to buy an iPad 2, wait for release for the iPad 3 and wait for iPad 2 prices drop unless you do want the iPad 3 at the Apples inflated pricing.

Don't they just chuck every iPad 2 in the dumpster out back when the iPad 3 ships in? :P After all, the new one will have a better camera or something else fundamental to the operation of the machine, so the old ones become useless instantly. :P

I want Android devs to hurry the fuck up and make their software better for tablets, because the Transformer Prime form factor would be perfect (and even better if they added a digitizer).

I will be interested to see what the iPad3 has to offer. March 7 is when they should be announcing it and if it is like last time, they will be releasing it pretty soon after that too.

Saves toting kilograms of musical notation, good size for working on while commuting, wish it was little thinner and lighter but otherwise, best device I've ever owned. Looking forward to seeing what the third version has to offer, and if its not that great I will just get a cheap ipad 2. |

I carry the following in my bag (new bag arriving today that should carry more though);
MacBook Pro 13" Asus Zenbook UX21E 11.6" iPad2 iPhone4S x2 Kindle Chargers for all Backup batteries for all USB chargables... Notebook (paper kind) Pen Those people whining that an iPad is too much to carry around, clearly haven't found a decent satchel bag, I use my iPad about 7 hours a day, that being said though... if an 8" iPad is release, I might get that, provided it is as powerful as the 10inch, as I would like a portable tablet that takes a little less room. -------------------- Quote By Juggalo Scrub

Depends on how much you move about, I find mine invaluable. Far easier than lugging a full laptop about. I just pull my phone out of my pocket for mobile use. If I'm on the lounge and can't be bothered leaning over my beer to get my laptop, or actually getting off my arse to go to my PC, I just use my phone to find that quick Google fact I was searching for. My point is most houses already have 2-3 points of access to the internet these days, and most peoples pockets also contain one. The tablet is a largely useless piece of kit, that Apple have very cleverly marketed, and somehow create a huge demand for. Sure, for some people using it as a portable note pad is a good alternative to a laptop. But the fact is, most of the people (that I know with them at least) got them purely for the sake of having one. -------------------- Intel i5 3570 @ 4.5GHz - Gigabyte OC HD7970 @ 1150MHz - 16GB G.Skill Ripjaws @ 1866MHz - ASUS Maximus V Gene - Antec EA-650W Platinum - Fractal Design Define Mini - Noctua NH-U12P SE2 - 10TB Network Storage - OCZ Vertex 3 240GB (Steam) - Corsair Force GT 3 120GB (OS+BF3).

Well it looks to be alright. No facelift which I dislike, but the new resolution seems pretty cool. 4g is nothing at the moment but I guess when it starts to become more mainstream, it will be good to get a 4g one. I am considering it but it certainly hasn't sold me on it yet.

I'm sure the iPad3 or whatever it's called will eventually support Aussie 4g.
