What is Atomic F1?
Atomic F1 is a community of atomicans who get together and race F1 cars

The main competition is now in Season 5, and with each season gains more popularity and drivers. This has meant that space was limited, and new and old drivers alike were missing out. Therefore, there is now to series; the original series and the secondary series

The GP2 Championship was set up for the more casual racers. While the races will still be exciting, it is more about having fun than anything else. We welcome any new drivers to the series, and hope everyone enjoys it

The Game
For this season, we are using the PC version of Formula 1 2011. This is available on Steam for around $50 (as of time of writing this), and in retail stores

If you'd like to know how to set your car up, you can ask us here (someone is bound to know what you're talking about :-P) or in the main thread, or read one of kikz's many detailed guides on www.f1speedguides.com

General Rules
Be considerate to all other drivers; this is not a destruction derby. Make use of voice chat. If you are overtaking a slower car, coming out of the pits, or have spun off, please say something about it. This minimises the chance of accidents

In-game Communication
We do not use the included Games for Windows Live (GFWL) voice chat system in F1 2011, as this is found to negatively impact network performance, causing issues for all drivers. We use Ventrilo, which a is fantastic free program that is commonly used by many gamers. The details for the Vent server are below:

Race Rules and Scoring System
There are to be no driving aids allowed, except for automatic gearboxes. However, it is highly recommended that you use manual, as it will often result in faster lap times, and gives greater control over the car

Many of the drivers will be using steering wheels, but keyboards and controllers can be used. We suggest that all participants have at least a controller, as this gives the player much better control of their vehicles

The scoring system is as follows:

Qualifying
1st - 5 points
2nd - 4 points
3rd - 3 points
4th - 2 points
5th - 1 point

Race
1st - 25 points
2nd - 18 points
3rd - 15 points
4th - 12 points
5th - 10 points
6th - 8 points
7th - 6 points
8th - 4 points
9th - 2 points
10th - 1 points

Racing Calendar
Races are held every Sunday at 8:30PM EST. Invites will be sent out at this time. Please be ready to race at least 5 minutes before this

Great looking logo guys very very cool. So what day are you running this league race on ? If it's Saturday night then I could join a few as I cant always make the Sunday night F1 races due to work but would like to have a race when this occurs.

The idea of GP2 is that we can race competitively with eachother without GP1 guys blitzing us, Jase :P
