I'd personally get an ASROCK board, gigabyte and asus have both had significant failure rates lately from what I read, asrock makes a very solid product at good prices so win win.

I wasn't aware of the ASUS failure rates, what chipsets are failing most?

ok..

So,
Gigabyte Z77x-D3H http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-pa...spx?pid=4144#ov $176
2500K $213
Saphire 7850 $259
Patriot Gamer2 1600 8gb kit (x2) $98

so $746 with a good option to possibly upgrade to ivy later in the year or get somethin fancy. yeah?

Considering ASRock and ASUS come out of the exact same factory I'd be surprised to see one failing more than the other.

Also, why not wait until Sunday to buy an Ivy Bridge processor? Or pick up a cheap second hand Sandy from people selling on OCAU.

Going Z77 with Sandy is useless, may as well go Z68 for less.

its only less in some cases in others its more depending on what mb your looking at
for example asrock z68 ex4 $165 asrock z77 ex4 $155 and it does come with a few very small benefits
