Congratulations Atomic Forums!, One MILLION posts! Options

So 1 million posts in around 3.66 years. The forums have been around for about 11? v2.6 had 4.78 million posts and I'm not sure if that includes stats from v1. At any rate, the post count has dropped off since coming to v3 (going by a rough estimate in my head, done this very moment).

4.7 million posts in 7.5 (rough guess) years is around 620,000 posts a year. We only just hit 1,000,000 in V3 after 3.6 years, which means there has been around 280,000 posts a year.

Or is my math just really bad?

Looks about right to me.

I reckon if you surveyed most long standing forums they'd tell you there's been a drop off in the last few years due to Twitter and the like.

Hi all.

This is my first post in around 6 or 7 years on here. Been away, come back, lurking and the like. as you can see from my humble 400 odd posts. since the beginning of the forums.

The greatest post that really stands out in my memory is from when Virtuoso hit 10k posts in the Atomicmpc Forums... V1 I think. (Hell it is around 8, 9, possibly 10 years ago?)

In any case, The forums here have seen their fair share of ups and downs, and well if the math is correct, it seems to be heading down.....

A dirty metric is that it's rare to see people getting ~50 posts per day, sustained, anymore.

Check other social media sites tho' - Twitter, Facebook, G+ et al - and you'd probably see a bunch of people getting at least 50 aggregated bits of activity.
