Just like the title says...this is a wee little thread dedicated to some idle chatter about a particular subject.

Tonight...

Which meal do you most prefer?

  • Breakfast
  • Lunch
  • Dinner

Maybe give an explanation why.

:)~

I'll start.

I love lunch the best. It's where you get away with having dinner type meals, but you can draw it out over a long lunch. Sit on a few beers to boot.

The perfect lunch for me is in an old country style pub. Good ol' pub tucker, washed down with half a dozen cleansing ales.

There's this great place in Adelaide called the Tap Inn. I reackon it would top any pub I've been to for enjoying the long lunch.

Plate hanger schnitzel...salad...chips...you name it. Lamb shanks on mash with a BBQy style sauce. Fresh steamed veges.

*just made myself hungry*

How about you?

A great lunch is the best, a weekend lunch with mates over, beers, bbq, stretched out for hours, but as a chef, I love dinner, I can really go nuts, you can have dinner meals for lunch but no where near as often.

Edit, favrouite food, there is none, I love it all, I'm spending my life in cook books from all over the world to try new flavours out. My currnet top dishes include a thai mussaman, poached snapper with a morroccan marinade, slow roasted pork belly with a rosemary rub, those are my recent dishes for when I felt like cooking something a little bit extra.

I'm working nights though so really it is breakfeast for me when everyone has dinner, so I have dinner for breakfeast and breaskfeast meals before I go to bed, I find my classification of food more comes from what is cooked over when the meal happens, lunches are a lot lighter and fresher than dinners I've found, so I'm sticking to dinner is the best.

What's your fave dish dude?

Dinner for me.
It's the end of the day, am home and relaxing. The food has to be tasty, but it's more the time of day and being
with my mate, sharing the repast. Because of our schedules this only happens a few times a week .
We don't make a big deal over it, but enjoy it all the same.

You fat cunt.

Dinner for me as well.. I can sit down adn relax at the end of a long day with a good home cooked meal.

I don't always have breakfast (don't spank me yet - I usually sneak in a piece of fruit at about 10am).. lunch.. well in my job I don't get time for lunch.. although I will generally eat a sandwich or something when I get home from work.. so dinner it is for me :)

I like dinner because you can eat everything at dinner. My ideal dinner is a giant degustation menu with matched wines (ideally, I like to match the wines through the pre-dinner champagne, the early chardonnays and semillons, a bit of verdelho and a sauvignon blanc. Then when they move onto reds, I continue to match the sauvignon blanc with everything up to the point of botrytis reisling arriving).

My ideal dinner has about ten courses covering as many different things as possible. Salad - seafood - soup - meat - vegetables - intricate refreshers - delicate sauces - simple and complex accompaniments - and at least a couple of desserts!

There's nothing complex about why I like dinner though - I love food.

You're assuming that everyone has a set time for each of the above options.

Sometimes my Breakfast may be my Lunch and my Dinner may sometimes be my Brunch.

Time Zones can be a bit mis-leading.

I don't care.
I don't eat at any specific time.

For instance, I'm just having dinner now.

Under My Thumb- dedicated to LP and moist, you poor bastards.
LogicprObe

We do alright.
Juggalo Scrub
i tend to have one reasonably large meal a day, and then the rest is either skipped, or minimal. I prefer to have such meals during the day, rather than at night.

I hate waking up the next morning with last nights dinner sitting heavily in my stomach.
Cybes
Breakfast is when feeding it stops my stomach hurting. Also, my tastebuds seem to work better then.
cobwebs in the sky
My taste buds aren't even working until I've slugged down a coffee and waited for the caffeine to hit. This gets dangerous when the milk is completely sour, I didn't even notice this morning, noted it tasted kind of 'funny' so let my brother sample it.. he almost puked..

So lunch or dinner.. my favourite place to eat is somewhere in the sun.. I've gotta say lunch (despite only seldom having nice lunches)

Breakfast.

Reason: Bacon.

We had a whole thread on this!

I use a small saucepan..........that two eggs will just cover the bottom.......bring to the boil, then drop the heat to medium......crack the eggs in after it has stopped bubbling...........wait......you might need to splash the water over the tops if they aren't cooking as fast as the rest of the egg.

Some like a teaspoon of vinegar in the water too, although I don't find any difference.

I use a small saucepan...bring to the boil with a splash of vinegar...drop eggs in and let them bubble away for 3 mins. No more...no less.

Drain eggs after they leave the water.

Perfect on slightly browned toast.

:)~
LogicprObe

Slightly burnt is better!
twinair
I like to eat pussy.
Any time of day is fine with me.
nodnerb
LP...maybe you could offer your slightly burnt pussy to twinny...!

I believe in the Haymarket district that would be a number 42. With or without rice?

:P~~
twinair
I don't like riced up pussy.
Although a racing stripe ads a nice touch.
