The PM's car dealer mate John Grant - the one who loaned him the ute at the centre of the Utegate affair - has been appointed one of the first dealers in Queensland to sell Chinese-made utes.
Wait a sec. Chinese-speaking Kevin... A free old ute... Special financing arrangements for the ute dealer... New Chinese ute dealership...
It all adds up!
Rudd, long suspected of being some kind of Chinese Government sympathiser, has done a deal to give the Chinese access to the Australian ute market. He's acted as go between for his mate and schoolbuddy, John Grant, to the Chinese, and when the whole thing was threatened by the collapse of the car financing market, he's stepped in to ensure the Chinese utemakers still have a distribution network in place.
He wasn't protecting John Grant - he was protecting the Chinese!!!
It all makes sense now. Call ASIO.

Great Wall Motor or GWM. ROFL built like a brick shithouse perhaps?
Actually, visually it looks ok

Like a lot of forst export models from Asian countries I would assume the first tooling and body formers was superseded tooling from a more established manufacturer. Like Hyundai used old Opel machinery.
Theoretically you would think they should be tough as old nails given the life they most likely suffer in China.

I'm interested to see how these new chinese utes work out. From my experiences and hearsay regarding chinese dirtbikes:
-Engines are fairly reliable although not incredibly powerful
-Plastics are cheap and nasty
-You have to grease everything that moves and locktite everything that doesn't regularly
Whether any of this applies to chinese utes or not...

Looks like they took the doors off a Nissan Prarie and grill off a battery egg-farm's conveyor system.
And by the profile of those idicators (check the profile of the drivers side one), looks like they found a use for the molds from the blowup doll factory.
Finally, the wheels appear to be reverse-engineered and greatly enlarged versions of the 1975 series Matchbox cars.

The Holden Colorado is a Daewoo in disguise.
So chinese utes are infiltrating everything.

IIRC, GM owns Daewoo. And never let facts get in the way of a decent rant.

Seems more like Americans doing the infiltrating, rather than the Chinese. Like I said, never let the facts get in the way of a decent rant.
