Just wondering if anyone has used OzGameShop and what their thoughts are on the site.

I have ordered 1 game off there about a week ago and am yet to get anything (which is expected when coming from the UK). Still curious
NukeJockey
Ordered a game off there last monday, still hasn't arrived, but I know of people who have ordered from there and eventually get the stuff.
Mac Dude
Only ever ordered one game from there. No problems at all, though delivery was around 2 weeks. I'd use them again.

Teleporters haven't been invented yet, so it does take time for things to come from the other side of the globe. :)
Brock
I order from there quite regularly. Pretty much if the game is in stock and it's not a preorder you should get it within 4-5 days of the payment received. I ordered LA Noire from there however and it hasn't arrive yet – said it was dispatched on Friday morning, so I'll let you know when I get it this week…

Cheapest place to purchase games I've found so far, if you're happy to wait a few days…
bnew
Great site- I order most of my games from them. Delivery time tends to be around 2-3 weeks.
Brock
2-3 weeks?! Lol shit, I've been pretty lucky then <.<
bowlen
Yeah i guess for the cheaper prices, you pay not to get it straight away.
Frizzl
I've never waited more than 1 and a half weeks roughly. I'd recommend them :)
NukeJockey
The email said it will arrive in 4-12 days. Not sure if it meant working days (2.5 weeks) or just says, in which case it should be under 2 weeks.

Just double checked the email, 4-12 working days.

As others have reported back the waiting time is pretty much the trade off for the better prices if you want to buy a boxed version of a game. I wouldn't worry as it will eventually get there, they aren't a fly by night that has run off with your money. My general waiting time is 8 - 12 days, expecting my copy of Brink any day now.
tantryl
They're generally 1-3 weeks, just like most of the UK games places. They ship from the UK and they have UK classifications.

Just use gamecafe.com.au to find the cheapest place - it'll generally be Zavvi or The Hut (similar shipping times) but OzGameShop is right up there.

I think Zavvi and The Hut have free shipping deals going at the moment which make them cheaper.
Morgoth
Aye, I got my boxed New Vegas and some other stuff for a fraction of what I would pay here, and ofcourse it's gonna take ~2 weeks or so from UK
GoFaster
I've ordered from them twice, the first time I got the games in about a week and a half. The other time was the Witcher 2 pre-order which I wimped out on, and asked for a refund which I got early Monday morning their time.
psyckle
I had a preorder arrive about 7 days after release date. Would buy again from them
krispy89
I've bought from them in the past, took about 3 weeks for my order to arrive, but the prices blow the retail ones out of the water IMHO.
disolusiond
I order nearly all of my pc games from them. Great prices, especially on older games. Most of it arrives around the 10 day mark but sometimes it takes a little longer.
Antraman
Got Shogun II from there some weeks ago, for around half retail. I think it took about a week to arrive.

Pretty good I reckon.
bowlen
I think that if you are wanting to get a new release game, then something like JB would be the way to go

older games from ozgameshop for me

I bought Brink PC from there, still hasnt arrived, as it came out on the 13th so it dispatched by then. But gee whiz its sure taking a while, and it even said the last time I preordered that I should be able to get it no later than the 20th May if I pre-order.... So yea I dont think I'll ever pre-order from here.
tantryl
Once again, thanks to their free shipping Zavvi & The Hut are 10-20% cheaper than OzGameCafe at the moment (on average).

you would expect that if you are able to pre order a game, it is despatched to you with an arrival date of the release date.

Just received my copy of RDR that I ordered from there last week, took less than a week to get here as they sent it off on Monday night my time.

This is where I'm buying my stuff from now a days particularly for items that have been around for a little while, usually I'll get new releases from Asia as they're sometimes less then $50, $45 if I'm lucky. Delivery is slow but I can manage it in a way where I got a steady stream of games. It's ridiculously cheap. Assassins Creed: Brotherhood is being sold for about 22 AUD, I was also thinking about choosing Portal 2 or Crysis 2 for about 45 AUD.

Yay, finally got Brink.

But guess I'll buy games from them if I dont want to play it immediately... *sigh*.

Not sure whether to get Deus Ex 3 through them or through Steam. Decisions decisions. I just hope Deus Ex 3 does deliver its promise to be like Deus Ex 1....

What were you expecting? Next day delivery? Granted 2 weeks seems a long time, but when you save $50 or so, its worth it.

And people wonder why more money is going overseas...
bowlen
Yeah i have been looking at getting Crysis 2. When I end up getting it, I will go ozgameshop as i don't really mind it coming in like 2 weeks.
Im still waiting for my copy of Infamous though.

On their website they stated that pre-ordering Brink should be able to get the game no later than 20th May, so I said sure no probs.

But when it was 4 days late I'm a bit annoyed, if it was 7 days late I'd be pissed. Sure I save some money, but I expected at least less than 2 weeks not over it. Granted, probably that it got delivered to Australia before the date, and that our Australian parcel process is screwed. But it'd be a nice thought to be able to pay a little more to do it through a faster delivery company and such for a pre-order game.
NukeJockey
Yeh well as I said, the postage on mine was quick (7 days, since i ordered it, 4 working days since it was sent) so I daresay it was australian postage or customs maybe made it take that extra bit longer.
LordBug
People need to remember that the postal system is getting hammered by the increasing quantity of parcel deliveries. I've heard some complain that they feel as though they're delivering more packages than letters.

So yeah, my personal rule of thumb is I give things four weeks, and then I start chasing it up. Unless it's express, than it's got two~three days.
bowlen
Just received my copy of Infamous.

Took just under 2 weeks from ordering.

Has anyone had any experience using g2play.net? They currently have Homefront for $13 AUD and I'm very tempted to grab it just to try and chuck the key in Steam as they state you can do...

I was asking in my own thread about these sort of companies - nuke says their ok but im still humming and arrring about risking my steam account. Though I cant imagine them banning the entire account just the questionably purchased game maybe...
elfinke
I've been using ozgameshop/zavvi/101cd/etc for yonks, maybe even years whatever. I've got probably a dozen or more successful receipts from them.

Never had a problem, until this last month. None of them are letting me preorder Dark Souls >:/

So I had to preorder from game.co.uk and amazon.com instead So not exactly a problem, lol.
NukeJockey
When is Dark Souls due out man?
Brock
Still waiting on LA Noire from these guys :(
NukeJockey
So glad I cancelled my pre-order of LA Noire from these dudes, ended up getting it from EB and taking it back a few days later anyway.

Didn't like it? I've heard nothing but good about it! Apart from the 'slow start'.

Towards the end of the game I was sick of the repetitive gameplay and boring story.
