    One for Squidy

Apparently she and another resident had a stroke after being served by the man. A third resident tried, but he dashed out of the way of her advances.

Up the creek because I am NOT on benefits!

The whole points ID proof system was just their pissant token effort at reducing identity theft. It does fuck all to help stop credit card and other types of fraud.

    Copyright law

Best thing to do would be just label it something like "Prod database backup August 2008" or something. I have no doubt they'd open DVDs in packaging to look at the label, very much doubt they'd attempt to look at the actual data on it. Of course, nothing wrong with just RARing the thing and chucking a password on.

TV Alert - Where's my robot!

Yep. Obviously shits on the others since it's got military funding.

TV Alert - Where's my robot!

Hoping they show that 4-legged one that someone linked to on YouTube months ago. It shits all over everything I've seen so far as being able to stay upright.

    Post your gaming setup.

Not likely... it's essentially an Amiga 1200 with CD but no keyboard. CD32s go for $90 BIN on eBay, I got mine for about $30, except no PSU or joypad. These days, that's about the price of an Amiga 500 and you're looking at $150+ for a 1200, even more if it's got extras like HDD, CD or accelerated CPU.

    Post your gaming setup.

Since this is the console section, consoles only (although a couple of exceptions). Part of my gear, I don't have a "setup" ATM although I have a glass cabinet which I think I'll dedicate to hold all my console stuff. PS1 (I have 3 although 1 not working ATM) Amiga CD32. Got this a while back, barely used it. I've got to get a proper gamepad for it as many titles require the extra buttons. XBox Atari Lynx. OK, a handheld, not a console. But, close enough. Atari XEGS. Marketed as a console, but it's just an Atari 8 bit computer, not shown in pic is the keyboard. Missile command game is built in. Atari 7800. The way-to-late reply to the NES. A machine that never saw it's potential, the number of titles made specifically for the 7800 was under 150. But, compatible with the 2600s enormous library. I've also got a Gameboy (original), NFI if it works properly as I don't have any games for it.

A funny thing happened while I was away...

He had a second honeymoon... just didn't take the missus along, that's all.

    Taking on the world

Such "bad things" tend to toughen you up, and can have other effects. You might get "teflon skin" ie- water off a ducks back, little annoyances don't phase you like before. On the other hand, you might develop a bad temper and fly off the handle at the smallest inconvenience. Seems like you've gone through the worst of it. Old saying - "If you find yourself in hell, keep walking". Just use the wisdom gained from the experience to avoid similar situations in future, but of course with the "R" word that's almost asking the impossible. As long as you don't retract into yourself and become bitter then you might look back in the years to come and call it a positive experience.

    2stroke

I'm pretty sure 2-stroke oil is much easier flowing than engine oil. It's also much more expensive by volume but would probably be a lot cheaper if you sourced large containers rather than the piddly ones the servos usually sell - and "servo" in itself usually means paying double or more the price of elsewhere.

    The Black Hole

PMSL. Stupid cunt got too greedy Should have saved it 'till Monday morning. Take it upstairs to directly above the bosses office. Stick it on the floor, then take a piss/dump/wank on it.
  12. Congrats to both of you. And, while you're updating that FaceBook page, make doubly sure you're not borrowing any of 1shot's photos.

    Engine question

Personally, I'd probably just make a template with paper, then transfer to cardboard (remember the old kids trick of rubbing a soft lead pencil over things to get their image). Don't put graphite on the carb. You don't really want that shit clogging anything up.
  14. Something useful for a change. At the other end of the scale, some sites, even forums, highlight certain words and if you have the misfortune of hovering, up pops an ad.

    Engine question

This ^ Just use some blank paper first to make a template. Go putting liquid shit on, for starters you probably won't get a proper seal. Secondly, it'll likely stick so hard that it's near impossible to remove again. Although, I believe it is sometimes advisable to use some liquid gunk in conjunction with gasket paper.
  16. Wrong. Wrong, wrong... It means. Happy Birthday. Can you direct me to the train station, please. And can I have 2 sugars with that.

How do you see the Future?

150 years from now... TV will still be around, in 3D. It will feature commercials with "Show Breaks" interspersed within. Bert Newton will finally retire from the medium, then the next day promptly blow half his Superannuation at the Casino. The attention span of the dumbed down general public will be a fraction of what it is now. As a result, many Sports are reformulated to still bring in spectators. AFL games will have 5 minute quarters. The only surviving form of Cricket will be a 7-a-side variation called "20-20". But, it's 20 balls per Innings rather than 20 Overs. Huge multinational corporations will provide most infrastructure and services formally provided by governments. Democratic elections will be run by online voting of candidates who appear in a reality TV type elimination show.
  18. You'd reckon the News would have been all over it if it was "one of ours" on initial delivery. And "rushed through" in peacetime military terms tends to mean something takes 3 years to get here rather than 6.

Coal industry reaches out for love

The way I see it, it's a WOFTAM piece of technology. And, I wouldn't believe it's without risks either. To me, it makes about as much sense as cutting off your sewerage connection, then just letting it run freely under your house.
  20. Just wear something like the male flight attendants would have and put on a lisp when you walk in. If asked for ID, just say "Ooh, I'm Trent. Don't you remember me from the toga party the other night?"

    Goth or Not?

Goth is "cute" on some girls. But, once they're over 25 or so, it just looks plain immature and stupid. Male Goths are rediculous, regardless of age.

    Commodore 64

HD disks, as in the 1.2 meg ones? I'm not totally sure. It might be that like the HD 3.5" ones, they have a thinner oxide layer. Been a while, don't quite remember. No harm in trying, though.

    Your most hated film...

There's been a few. Mad Max 3. Hollywood influence, stupid plot, repeating the same stunts as MM2 except less spectacular, huge hype and failure of delivery. Star Trek: Generations. High hopes from all with the cast of new and old. With the amount of time this movie spent in production, we all had every right to expect more than the turd that eventuated. About all it did was to reinforce the even/odd, great/shit theory about the Star Trek movies. The Simpsons movie. Nothing more than an ordinary episode that went into overtime. Saw it once, no plans here to see it again. Police Academy 3-7 (or 8 or however many they did). 1 was a pretty good movie. 2 had the voice of Winslow to add some freshness. 3 became quickly stale. The ones that followed weren't worthy of immediate release to video as a weekly hire. Red Dwarf. OK, it doesn't exist yet. The problem I have is that the time it does eventuate, the plot will have to run something like this: New cast of actors hired to play the characters. First 30 minutes of the movie see the Dwarfers discover a means to return to Earth. They all go into stasis for the 40 year journey home. Second 30 minutes, a malfunction causes numerous problems, including the stasis not quite working as planned. Final 30 minutes. The original actors resume their parts, all approaching pensionerhood. They make it back to Earth. Rather than seeking a way to Fiji, Lister's big aspiration turns to inventing a walking frame with a kebab holder.

India, China could snap up Holden

Actually, it's GM in the US that's in the most trouble. Last I heard, they're going just fine here. European operations probably going reasonably well too. The problem is more with the US car industry - when fuel prices jumped all those months ago, they had little to offer in response. They still insist trying to sell people 7 litre tanks that handle like wet sponges and are ten years behind in the style department. The public over there is finally coming to their senses and realising that the local product just isn't up to it.

India, China could snap up Holden

What a sad state of affairs that'll be. A car that will be like just about everything else made in China - roughly polished turd that breaks within months. And to top it off, Kevin from Calcutta calling you at dinner time every night, trying to talk you into buying one.
