Paul Allen, co-founder of Microsoft at only 65. Not much around about it yet. https://finance.nine.com.au/2018/10/16/13/38/the-man-behind-microsoft

AC on for the first time since about early April. Feels like the hottest day in almost 6 months - still over 24.

When's the last time the US started spending up on a "strategic asset" program? There's been SFA since the B2. They're concentrating totally on the small scale tactical stuff and leaving their pants way down with the big picture stuff.

I found a Yetisports CD the other day so bought it. Sadly it's only got a couple of the minor games. Remember Flamingo Drive? You need to allow Flash to run - should be fine, this is the original publisher's site: http://yetisports.org/flamingo-drive-game-5/ First time I've played in years, I'm fairly sure I also had a couple of the games on the old Nokia mars bar phone. Just got 2031 metres, I think I used to be about to get over 4000 fairly regularly.

I'm disappointed at the monetary policy. Really, I'd have expected that there'd have been legislation to allow Legal Tender representation by form of gold, silver, shark's teeth, ornamental shells, or Pokemon cards.

Billy BlastOff isn't too bad (poor pic though) The Biker guy is funny The Shell one is reverse image to read correctly on the inside of a window. "Fun fuel for hipsters" - though 40 years ago they weren't the annoying type we have now.

Not good. But yeah, at least make the most of being away from home for a while.

He's probably not doing too badly anyway... I was out this arvo and saw this. Wasn't sure it'd be on streetview as it looks recent but here it is... https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-35.251298,149.1368564,3a,37.5y,5.52h,88.03t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sf8nX_Mx4FWtYyo71eqC9cg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

As it happens I've got a bag that dates back to the 1970s. Atomic ones - I had the bet part of 10 or more but fairly sure most or all got sent to other people here. The bag (notable ones) - and NFI how the adhesive has held up on these things but many look pretty good. Photo hosting a PITA so might see about that later. - "Raiders to win" sticker that you put on your car window, probably when they were starting to go well around the mid-late 1980s. - "Rock of the 90s KIX 106 FM" - a couple of different AMSA ones (marine safety). Probably early 90s, their HQ used to be in the same building I worked at so likely from a promotional table in the foyer. - various "Shell" ones from the 1970s. Including "Go well, go shell" which was the early 70s slogan. - "Kiama, NSW" round tourist one, probably early 90s. - various "Mr Juicy" probably 70s/80s. - some "Toyota genuine parts" with cavemen cartoons, probably late 80s. - "CIG" imposed on Australia shaped background, probably 80s. - a few from car dealers, probably 70s-80s. - "2UW 1107" with Aus flag and Golden Fleece logo. That must be pretty old, fairly sure the Golden Fleece brand was gone by the 80s. - "Capital 7 is the place to be" (what the local TV station was known as probably early 80s. - Ambulance contribution probably 80s. - "7 Days Hire" probably 70s, not sure they even exist anymore. - "Canberra means business" - some promo crap, probably early 80s. - "Squeeze me a Quelch" probably early 80s. - "navy" probably defence promo from mid 80s. - "RAAF future pilot" as above. - "Sunrise" (OJ again, probably early 80s). - "Repco auto parts" - probably late 70s and well before it parts stores became Reject Shop clones. - "2CA / ACT road safety council - if you drink, don't drive" - probably early 80s. - "Find 30 minutes a day for Life. Be in it." - late 70s. Also a "I'm a Life. Be in it. walker" - "Canberra Credit Union" - probably mid 70s, like most has probably been through a dozen merge phases. - Various "Cue Cola / 1053 2CA" promos, probably mid-late 70s. - "Budgewoi - Central Coast, NSW" probably mid 80s. - "Workin' Gear Fyshwick" - this store still exists with it's annoying TV ads. It's got a 6 digit phone # so would be before the 90s but my guess is early-mid 80s. - "We love Australia" probably early 80s. - a panel with removable "Mr Men" - contains 6 but one missing. Probably mid-late 70s. Has a phone as well as "Telex" number. - a couple of comedy stickers. One is "Billy Blastoff" though I don't think related to a toy of that name. The other has a bloke sitting backwards on a motorbike that's taken off uncontrollably. Should mention too I guess, also got some modern day ones that they chuck in with graphics cards, mobos, CPUs. A few got used but most just got chucked into the product box or a drawer somewhere.

Latest scumbag scammer phone call - automated computer voice that sounds like some Indian attempt at a hybrid US/Aus accent telling you that your internet disconnection is imminent due to some IP address bullshit and to press 1 to be transferred to get it fixed. The fact they mentioned Telstra fucks them over to begin with seeing I've had nothing to do with them for about 2 years.

A couple of the idea have some merit but really the whole thing sounds like taking the worst of what every major philosophy has to offer and mashing it together. As for arguing about it, you may as well go to a flat earth convention. In both cases you're trying to impart hundreds of years of wisdom onto nutcases that are stuck with their tunnel-visioned take on the universe. Like the old saying goes - don't argue with an idiot, they'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience every time.

Yep, constant pain is a right bitch. The disc/disk thing... generally the way I see it, if it's in a case or jacket then you call it disk, e.g. floppy disk, hard disk. If it's not, it's a disc, e.g. compact disc, disc brakes.

What Did You Watch Lately ?

They're all idiots from what I can see. It's just gangsta bullshit to boost the PR. Seems nobody involved is regretting the post-fight shit, ultimately it'll just boost the profits of future events. Some of the pre-fight promotion with McGregor was hilarious. I've not seen anyone strut around like that since Bea Smith on Prisoner.

What Did You Watch Lately ?

Commando on the TV now... I refuse to watch movies with commercials. I can't remember when I last saw it, probably over 10 years ago. I can't recall recognising that they faked Bennett's death at the start... it was a WTF moment, had to do some looking around. That said, now I sort of feel like putting Mad Max 2 on.
