    Did something just happen?

Any atomicans in the wider Sydney area? We could just have an old fashioned "Fuck it, let's have a beer" meet.

Hm. Now you've got me wondering if it does suppot SDXC. Fake edit: Yes it does!

    Magazine Clearout!

Oh, ha. No that's just there to hide the To address. It wasn't a subscriber bundle in, though that would have been nice. Kothos, I'm currently in glorious ugh Sydney for work reasons. This I think is the only Atomic that I've got still in the original shrinkwrap, but I'm reasonably sure I have my stack back at my parents' house.

    Did something just happen?

I suppose I've had a bit of an atomic dry spell ?

    Did something just happen?

Clearly I am behind the times somewhat. I remember: Something like, "The World's Greatest LAN" (but that's not the name) Then Irradiate Then ... I can't remember the other two. They were the big ones I remember being on back in the heyday.

Can I stomp on neighbours wifi?

You must be mighty tempted to use kali -> aircrack and change the settings manually...

Wow. Noobs can't triforce. That's leftover in the quote box from another thread ? Now, I could never bring myself to throw out my old atomics, and I have all of them from issue 1 to about 80's or so. I think I could plug a few of those gaps, however the trouble is in that they are stored at my parents' house some 1000km away. This can be a long game kind of affair though.

Well at least for once I can unironically say that I welcome our new, new pom overlords. When's atomic meet 5 going to happen anyway?

Umm well it'll have to be when I move back to QLD because I left my gigabit network house behind. Yes - that means I stayed true to my words, although these days there'd be a few more asterisks.

    Roll Call!

I think another nekkid thread would be more fitting.

    Magazine Clearout!

I've been doing some tidying and preparation for an upcoming move. It's probably no coincidence that I decided to fire up Ye Olde Atomic forums given that not too long ago I found a still shrinkwrapped copy of one of the later issues in a box 'o' stuff from an old move. I'll have to go find out what issue it is, but it was nice to see it there in all its unopened glory, just chilling in a box waiting for the day that someone would open it up and paw at the pages after time immemorial. So when's the Atomic "we're all old and grey now, in some cases older and greyer than before" reunion LAN party?

Good Lord. So many familiar names here. It's awesome to see the old Atomic forums are thriving and the regulars all still haunt the halls of this establishment. Also - my avatar is looking kinda small in classic 64x64. :P

    Atomic MPC magazine collection auction

Man.... I'm gettin' a massive nostalgia hit here, coming back to visit the old haunt. Now people are packing it in and flogging off their mags, and that only makes it stronger.

Are people still getting the Secret Atomcian Underpants, or did those go away with the magazine?
  21. Wow. All these years and you're still rockin' a suave avatar from way back when ;)

  22. I'm still running my old faithful AMD 6000+ (stock) with 2GB DDR2-800. Even though, somewhat amusingly it powers away at even latest games like a champ, it's getting long in the tooth and I've been putting a couple of dollars away here and there for an upgrade. The problem is, I've been a bit of a bad nerd and let real life things get in the way of keeping up with computer knowledge. I'm looking for suggestions in the AMD department, and the Phenom II 1100Ts are finally looking like something competitive coming from the AMD farm for a change. When it comes to motherboards though - I don't mind springing for the very best. It's a strategy that's worked well for me since well, bascially forever. 'The cornerstone of your PC' to vaguely misquote Atomic from about 2,120 issues ago. I've been researching a few of the top shelf offerings, like Crosshair formula (from AnSUS) and the Sabertooth 990FX. http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM3Pl...BERTOOTH_990FX/ (Which I can't find at any local retailers). Basically, it would take a few weeks bare minimum, but more likely a few months to get back up to speed on the industry and get a general feel for the hobby (much as I used to have, back in the old days of unempl studying). I also tend to go for OC grade gear and run it mostly stock - because I highly value stability, and if it's one thing that OC gear has in spades, it's stability at normal settings. Plus I can always push it quite a bit should the opportunity/need arise. Agh. What's a good, boss, AMD board?

    Power supply tester?

Agreed. Although, a cheap testing device can be constructed in the form of an old motherboard and some components with memtest and so on... Maybe OP would be better off with that.

    Power supply tester?

Tanty (ha) erm, Tants(?), I remember you; you don't need to flash your credentials mate ;) I had a PSU just *DIE* on the spot. That was an amusing one. The computer was running, and the TV card was misbehaving so it was time for a restart (to reset the PCI bus/cards on it). Mind you other things were being troublesome at the same time, but y'know windows 'n all. Restarted and ... nothing. The PSU tester paperclip+ wouldn't start it up, and nor would a spare mobo that was laying around. The wierd thing is that the computer was still running and responding, even though the power supply had shit itself beyond being able to power on.

    Power supply tester?

Well it's a little more than a paper clip, but I would definitely agree that it isn't as useful as it sounds. Think of it more as a paperclip+
