    Problems with the 737MAX ?

It's definitely a concern. Although since the initial battery issues i don't recall there being any major disaster related to the 787. This site seems to agree. So it seems to have a good record up till now. Although maybe the batch of planes that this affects hasn't made it to the air yet??

    Problems with the 737MAX ?

    Well that was eye opening!!
  3. hmmm... look at that, right on time. You really have to wonder what the tipping point is for these fools to say "hey, there's something wrong here, and we need to do something about it". Instead it just gets tossed aside as just something you deal with every other week. For the "home of the brave" they sure don't have the balls to do anything that might make a difference.

And What Are You Listening To?

https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/w13xttx2/episodes/downloads Podcast on the moon missions. A lot is stuff you already know but still lots of good stuff in there.

Why I was up at an insane hour....

So glad i didn't have to go to work till late on monday. I wasn't actually expecting Federer to give Djokovic that much of a challenge. He is on the wrong side of 30 for a tennis player after all. I figured it would be some close sets, but probably in 4 sets to Djokovic. When it got to championship points to Fed, it was quite amazing, although not surprising given his feats in the past. But an almost 5-hour, 5 set to tiebreak end wasn't on my radar. Absolutely superb match, just not the ending i was hoping for.

    An interesting thought...

As someone who finds this whole discussion interesting but has no real knowledge about it, I also have to wonder why this hasn't become the new standard. From what i can tell it's no better/worse than the current status quo in terms of safety, BUT you get the option to use a good portion of the waste already piling up all over the place, and there's less, and less dangerous waste produced. For those reasons alone it seems like the smart thing to do. I'd also be surprised if over the years they haven't been able to create better safety protocols to counter potential issues. But again, that's just a very superficial look at some of the info out there. I'm sure there's something that i'm missing.

NBN - Is it too expensive?

No talk of FTTN, or is there a plan to get FTTN users moved to a FTTC or FTTH at some stage?

    money

Are they though? People are able to barter whatever they want with each other, effectively creating their own currency. A pig has has value to someone if they want one, but is worth nothing to someone if they don't. It doesn't make it legal tender, but it still forms the basis of the transaction which ultimately is what any currency is used for. I think that pretty much says what it needs to. Both statements are independent of each other. While you can debunk them using some roundabout logic, it doesn't take away from the fact they are both true statements. You can repeat that as many times as you want, it doesn't make it any more right, or my statements wrong. "Gravel or bits of plastic or invaluable metal" will only become valued if someone deems them to be worth something to them, or passed in by law stating so.

Did you not just contradict your first reply with the second? You won't accept gravel, but you think it's ok to use as currency? So is it or is it not? People can use whatever they want as currency, but it only has value if people deem it to have a value to them. All the monetary currencies have a value because that's what has been determined by the various govt's/authorities etc.

Forum downtime / new feature testing

I could also benefit from using the goto unread feature, but having the page numbers still is useful at times. I like the idea of having it a darker green. if it can't be used because it's almost invisible, then it may as well not even be there.

Forum downtime / new feature testing

That's the one i'm using... "atomic (default)". The problem is the page #'s next to the thread title. It's very dark grey and quite small, so hard to see. Just needs the colour to be a few shades lighter.

Any chance of getting the thread pages list on the front page a touch lighter?

    What's on your mind?

Rushed? There was 3 years between 7 and 8 and 3 years between 8 and 10. Both had an update during that time. Sounds like they're running better than the Japanese rail network to me. No doubt there was probably things they wanted to add to the original release. But given the bi-annual updates they're doing now, if something misses a cut-off then it generally makes it to the next release.
