World of Tanks SEA Transfer Vote thread.

Me being in Perth I am getting 60ms ping. Much better than the 300+ms ping from NA. No more ghost shots and the tank stops where and when I want it to. For me its like I upgraded the PC.

    New PC woes

Pretty sure it was the DVI cable. I went back to my old monitor with the VGA cable and it seems to be OK so far. That's two DVI cables that have just died on me for no reason. They haven't been attacked by my kids or mistreated. I'll stick to VGA cables or HDMI. Thanks for the help guys.

    New PC woes

Thanks guys for the replys I appreciate it. I am using a VGA cable with a DVI converter plugged into it and my old trusty sony G520. I'll give it a run for a few hours and see what happens. The problem did occur randomly, every few minutes or every few hours glitch a few times then screen black out for a couple of seconds. If this works then I know its either the monitor or the cable. Everything has been disconnected and reconnected securely. Might be the DVI cable. Its not the first one I've had just decide to not work. Thanks again.

    New PC woes

Resolution is 1920 x 1080 for everything. I've tried all the graphic drivers released so far for the GTX 680. Unfortunately I don't have another graphics card to try. I do have another monitor. The old classic Sony G520. I'll hook that up for a while and see what happens. Thanks for the idea.
  5. The problem I have is the monitor flickers every so often at random times and occasionally the screen goes black for 2 seconds then comes back. This happens not just gaming but also while browsing the net, watching movies, word processing etc etc. My specs are: Asus Sabertooth X79 Corsair Dominator GT CMT16GX3M4X2133C9 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 Intel Core i7 3930K Intel 520 Series 120GB SSD EVGA GeForce GTX 680 2GB Corsair 850watt hx powersupply I also have 3 western digital hard drives installed, two optical drives and a card reader in a bay. I have no idea what is causing the problem. I've tried the ram at 1333 but that didn't help. Monitor is connected via DVI cable. Any ideas? Cheers

    The new Mortal Kombat

What do you know mine turned up for the Xbox 360 yesterday. It had an invoice on the outside of the package folded up (luckily) that had Mortal Kombat written on it. Also in the package it had a sticker (with name, address, consignment #) which was meant to be stuck to the outside that had Mortal Kombat on it too. The label on the outside with my name and address said , game software only. @Reb1rth mine took longer than expected and I feared the worse but it arrived. Don't worry. When the kids are in bed I'll unwrap it and kill a few kombatants.

    The new Mortal Kombat

I ordered a copy from overseas. I haven't seen it yet. I'm half expecting a fine in the mail. Imagine the amount of customs officials playing Mortal Kombat right now. If it comes through I'll be happy. I didn't realise it was illegal to get it from overseas. I thought the law was to not sell or promote IN Australia. I only ordered a single copy. It probably has Mortal Kombat written on the outside of the pack too. I'm screwed. Guess my copy won't "GET OVER HERE".

    ODST disc has become unreadable

Its well over a year old. I do have the receipt somewhere but I don't think they'll take it back. I will try it in another console first failing that I will get it resurfaced (I never heard of that before) at the rental place failing that at least its a cheap game now. I'll just get another copy.

    ODST disc has become unreadable

OK I've got a Jasper version Xbox 360 MW2 edition. My ODST disc has become unreadable now. I've played it heaps finished it several times but its only just started to do it. There is not a single mark on the disc. All my other games work fine. I had tha game installed on the hard drive and working fine before. So far today I've removed the game from the hard drive and cleared system cache but it hasn't worked. I've heard of this problem before with the ODST disc but only from brand new. I haven't heard of one not working after a year or so. I've yet to try it in another console or try another ODST disc in my console. Any thoughts? DVD rot? I had this happen to my Gladiator DVD. It rotted after 1 play. Not a mark on it but its unreadable.

    Xbox update

To me its basically the excessive whiteness/brightness. I browse the dash a fair bit and its way too bright. No point in adjusting your TV ebcause your games would be too dark if you turned down the brightness. Apparently you could change colour schemes on previous versions of the dash but not anymore. Its just too bright.

    Xbox update

Anyone updated their Xbox today? Its horrible to look at. Its all Kinect related. Now if you've got a Xbox Live Vision Camera so far it appears to be useless. You can't video chat unless you got Kinect or they may have taken it out completely. Should see the Xbox forums its flood of complaints and whining. I did a bit of it too.
  12. I think he is overlocking his CPU but not the RAM. Dave359 is just happy to have them run at specification for now. LOLs After having the same drama myself I know where he is coming from.
  13. I reckon a BIOS fix will sort it out. The latest BIOS has fixed some memory stability issues. It now no longer bumps the RAM to 2.0v which will fry your CPU memory controller.
  14. For now I'll have to stick to two DIMMs because even though all four are the same part number in CPU-Z 1 pair is slightly different from the other and that doesn't allow me to have XMP profile. I've got it running fine with 2x 2gb Hyper X DIMMS at 1600mhz. So 4GB memory will do for now. Thanks for your help everyone on this matter. I'm much better off for it. Cheers
  15. Uber Penguin above said that the memory controller is on the CPU die now, not the northbridge or does the northbridge still have something to do with it? I'm still getting schooled. What sort of voltages should I be looking at for northbridge if it is under stress from maximum DIMMs?
